I'm taking this one solo tonight. I'm only professionally sumarizing the Tigers/Athletics 4-game series opener in Oakland and Game 2 of the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals series between our Grand Rapids Griffins and the Utica Comets. The Tigers get shut out 4-0, but the Griffins take a commanding 4-0 lead and hold on for a 4-2 win to even that series at 1 game apiece heading back home to Van Andel Arena.
Ed Smith returns tonight to co-host with me. We talk the last 2 games of the Astros/Tigers series at Comerica Park and see where the Tigers stand in the American League Central Division. The Tigers travel to Oakland and take on the Athletics in a 3-game series starting tomorrow afternoon on Memorial Day at 4:05.
The Grand Rapids Griffins play Game 1 of the 2015 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals in Utica against the Comets tonight. Who sets the tone?
I ask Ed what he thinks about FOX 2 and FOX Sports Detroit teaming up to broadcast Lions preseason games.

"...And these stones shall be a memorial to you..."
Landscaping a garden can take a lot of work and during the process of breaking up new ground, we often come across rocks and stones that need to be removed. It's an amazing thing when these same stones can be used to accent the foliage and the flowers planted in that garden. Such is life when the rough things we've gone through in our marriages and relationships that were painful at the time, now serve to enrich us and even bring glory to God.
What do you do with the pain of rejection, hurt and betrayal? When do we hold on to things and when do we let go? How do you know when a season is over and when a new one has begun?
Well it has been a couple of weeks because I jumped accross the pond the the land my Ancestors walked. I had a great time and in keeping with Free Form Friday, I had to flow with the journey and give up trying to control what I was to see and where I was to go.
If time permits and nobody shows up to chat, I will talk about my trip to Ireland, some of the energies(astrolgical and otherwise) as I perceive it and what this new moon cycle is about.
However if the Universe has other plans, I will totally flow with it and we will go where ever the wind blows, where ever the river takes us
The Tigers relinquish a 5-0 lead, topped off with Joakim Soria's first blown save of the season, but then they win it 6-5 in 11 innings on a solo home run by catcher James McCann. That's his 2nd carer home run, and his first career walk-off homer. There are pros and cons I'd like to break down in this one. Alfredo Simon takes on Collin McHugh tomorrow night. I'm still having a major headache over this.
According to Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, current AHL Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill will be the new head coach of the Red Wings.
The Wings sign Michigan center Dylan Larkin to a 3-year entry-level deal with the Grand Rapids Griffins, who will start their Western Conference Finals series with the Utica Comets Sunday at 7:00 PM EST.
The Tigers finally beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-2 to salvage one in the 3-game series at Comerica Park. They face the Houston Astros next. The Astros lead the AL West with a 27-14 record 5 1/2 games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The wait is over. Mike Babcock decides to leave the Detroit Red Wings and sign an 8-year, $50-million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and AHL Grand Grapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill is the "leading candidate" to be the next head coach, according to general manager Ken Holland.
His Griffins will take on the Utica Comets in the Western Conference Finals in the Calder Cup Playoffs, after the Comets shut out the Oklahoma City Barons 1-0 in Game 7 of the Conference Semifinals.
Host Todd Weaver welcomes the one and only, Mr. Ricky Powell to the show. Ricky is a veteran of the entertainment Industry. He realized his first dream of being an actor when he was just seven years old. After a successful career in front of the camera, Ricky began his next journey at the NBC Television Network in Burbank, California where he continues to work today. Working through some difficult situations at work and at home in his twenties and thirties, Ricky became fascinated with the subject of happiness, and how you can choose to be happy regardless of your outer circumstances. He began writing and lecturing on the subject and now teaches the principles that go into creating lifelong happiness so you can make more money, have deeper, stronger relationships, and live longer. His latest book, Happiness Rocks is available now. On a personal note…Ricky had the vision of creating a community of like minded, positive individuals supporting one another many years ago. With so many negative messages bombarding us each day, he felt it was his calling to counter the darkness with a burst of light and spiritual energy. Finally, Masterminds of Lifelong Happiness is a reality. You can check out his Life Long Happiness 30 day challenge and you can learn more about Ricky HERE and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
