Running is alive and well in New Zealand and this week we report on our particpation in 2 wonderful Kiwi events:
Adidas Auckland Marathon
Taranaki Steelformers Around The Mountain Relay and 100 Miler
The Adidas Auckland Marathon includes the marathon, half marathon, quarter marathon, 5km and kids event. With a pre-event expo and post race party this is a wonderful world class event.
The Taranaki Steelformers Around The Mountain was to be our first 100 mile event. As well as the 160km for solo runners a 150km event for relay teams is also held. With a total of more than 2,200 participants most are in the relay with 13 in the solo.
A mix of stunning scenery and a great sense of community make the Around the mountain a very special event. With Sue winning the women's solo event we had an even more wonderful experience.
