The next generation doesn’t have an easy time of it. The number of At Risk Youth is on the rise, Every year more than 700,000 children are abused or neglected, and each day 1,200 children are removed from their families to enter foster care. (American Institutes for Research). In 2000, more than 4 million youth between ages 16-24 were neither working nor in school and 25% are estimated to be parents. Each year, more than 20,000 teens leave the foster-care system with little transitional support. In 1997, 350,000 young men between the ages of 18-24 were inmates in federal and state prisons and local jails. The population of 16-24 year olds is expected to grow at an above-average rate over the next decade and most of the increase will be among blacks, Latinos, and young immigrants.
The fight to give these children a chance, some stability is also a major topic and more people are getting jobs, creating organizations, doing what they can to help the leaders of tomorrow. Tonight we have a special all male panel who will be talking about their experiences with at risk youth.

Most of us can agree that the skills learned in the military include not only combat and professional techniques but also a very disciplined approach to life. Most of my family members that have served or that are serving in the military seem to have a very strict set of values and a strong work ethic. These are the values that many of us hope will be enstilled in future generations, however in order for that to happen, someone has to be around to teach the youth those lessons.
A few months ago, I received a linkedin invitation from Tee about her not for profit, Operation Heroes Connect. I was so impressed with the mission of the organization that I could not wait to have her on the show to share this project and the impact that it is having in the community.
Join us for an informative discussion about how she is using her connections to partner military veterans with at risk youth and some of her success stories.

About the Tour.
SISFI is hosting our Suicide Awareness and Prevention NY Tour on Sept. 17th - Oct 3rd across NYC, Long Island and Westchester to bring more awareness, services, programs and resources to address the increasing numbers of people facing serious life and emotional challenges, and human suffering with suicide ideations/thoughts, and supporting families who lost loved ones to suicide.
The theme of the tour is “Look into my heart and mind, tell me what you see”. It highlights the realities of not knowing what’s in a person’s mind or on their heart by what we see on the outside, and that we must engage in dialog and allow an open and comfortable atmosphere for people to open up and express themselves. The workshops and radio shows of the tour are scheduled at different times every day across the 3 cities.
We have aligned 15 community workshops, 3 luncheons and 15 radio shows to bring people, mental health professionals, energy therapists, health professionals, survivors and healers together to address this very serious and important topic affecting many people in our communities. While the community workshops are local in the 3 cities, the radio shows will have guests from across the country who lost loved ones, and practitioners who specializes in the support, treatment, recovery and healing of mental health, life coaching, emotional wellness and human suffering.

Ask God to help you choose to be kind, especially when you don't feel like it.
Man doesn't get it. By nature, man tends to think that God is harsh and unkind. Nothing could be further from the truth.??
God is extremely kind, and incredibly loving. Many people simply don't "realize that God's kindness leads you toward repentance."
The more we know God's goodness, the more we trust Him. The more we trust Him, the easier it is for us to put our lives into His hands. Only by placing our lives in His hands can we open the way for Him to save us, bless us and work through us, so that His wonderful will can be done on earth as it is done in heaven.
Being kind is a choice. You make choices every day — some big and some small. Think about all the choices you've made in the last 30 minutes. Which food to eat first at dinner, whether to sit on the floor or stay in your chair for this devotion, and who to share compliments about — those were all choices. God wants you to choose to be kind. The Bible tells about a kind man named Boaz who shared his harvest by letting a poor woman named Ruth gather from his fields (Ruth 2:8). Sometimes kindness is a choice to share what you have with someone in need. Other times, it's a decision to encourage someone with a sincere compliment.
TALKING TO EACH OTHER
- Does God care about whether we are kind to others? How do you know? (Matthew 25:31-40)
- What are some ways you can show kindness to those around you every day?
Ephesians 4:32:Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
I urge you to find ways to recognize and remember God’s kindness. It will build our testimonies
