Poetry as an art form may predate literacy. The earliest poetry is believed to have been recited or sung, employed as a way of remembering oral history, genealogy, and law.
The oldest surviving speculative fiction poem is the Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor, written in Hieratic and ascribed a date around 2500 B.C.E
The Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor is a Middle Kingdom story of an Ancient Egyptian voyage to "the King's mines" .
The Middle Kingdom of Egypt (also known as The Period of Reunification) is the period in the history of ancient Egypt between about 2000 BC and 1700 BC, stretching from the establishment of the Eleventh Dynasty to the end of the Twelfth Dynasty, although some writers include the Thirteenth and Fourteenth dynasties in the Second Intermediate Period. During this period, Osiris became the most important deity in popular religion.[
Classical thinkers employed classification as a way to define and assess the quality of poetry. Notably, Aristotle's Poetics describes the three genres of poetry: the epic, comic, and tragic.Extract from a 3,000 year-old papyrus. The blue lootus
She is one girl, there is no one like her. She is more beautiful than any other. Look, she is like a star goddess arising at the beginning of a happy new year; brilliantly white, bright skinned; with beautiful eyes for looking, with sweet lips for speaking; she has not one phrase too many. With a long neck and white breast, her hair of genuine lapis lazuli; her arm more brilliant than gold; her fingers like lotus flowers, with heavy buttocks and girt waist. Her thighs offer her beauty, with a brisk step she treads on ground. She has captured my heart in her embrace. She makes all men turn their necks to look at her. One looks at her passing by,this one, the unique one

Up Your Game Radio! Join us as we interview Stephen Shedletzy on his work with Simon Sinek’s team at Start With Why.
Stephen wakes up every day to connect with people in meaningful ways so that we live in a more fulfilled world. He supports leaders to create environments where their people feel inspired to go to work and feel safe while they are there, so they can go on to accomplish remarkable things. He challenges teams to assess their relationship with technology, bringing the perspective that perhaps what we believe brings us together, is the very thing that isolates us. Though technology is a powerful tool, Stephen believes that when we disconnect from it, we are more able to connect, create and innovate!
As the founder of InspirAction and movement correspondent with Simon Sinek’s team at Start With Why, Stephen serves those inspired by the message to inspire and live in service to others. In his engaging and dynamic style, Stephen speaks, leads workshops, consults and coaches to help leaders and organizations discover, articulate and live their Why - their driving purpose, cause or belief. He also co-hosts and co-produces the Start With Why Podcast, downloaded in over 140 countries.

During the Vietnam War, the United States military sprayed millions of gallons of Agent Orange and other herbicides on trees and vegetation. Several decades later, concerns about the health effects from these chemicals continue. One of the groups impacted by Agent Orange Dioxin poisoning is the servicemen who were at sea. These brave men are often referred to as Blue Water Navy, which includes Coast Guard and Fleet Marine personnel. Although it has been over forty years, there are still so many servicemen as well as their offspring who continue to suffer due to Agent Orange Dioxin poisoning. While the United States Veterans Administration offers “eligible Veterans”, a free Agent Orange Registry health exam to assess possible long-term health problems related to exposure, gathering the information is quite a task. However, there are people out there who are doing everything they can to help our veterans get the help that they need. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Mr. John J. Bury, a retired US Navy and Vietnam War Veteran. He is going to talk about Agent Orange Dioxin poisoning and his work as an advocate, helping others that have also been affected.
