Malcolm X, The Message & The Assassination

    in Culture

We have reach the 50th anniversary of brother Malcolm X death. So in this broadcast we want to highlight some info surrounding his life and assassination.

Born on May 19, 1925, in Omaha, Nebraska, Malcolm X was a prominent black nationalist leader who served as a spokesman for the Nation of Islam during the 1950s and '60s. Due largely to his efforts, the Nation of Islam grew from a mere 400 members at the time he was released from prison in 1952 to 40,000 members by 1960. Articulate, passionate and a naturally gifted and inspirational orator, Malcolm X exhorted blacks to cast off the shackles of racism "by any means necessary,". Brother Malcolm X broke with the group shortly before his assassination, February 21, 1965, at the Audubon Ballroom in Manhattan, where he had been preparing to deliver a speech.

A New Religion and the Goddess: An interview with a Theoretical Astrologer

    in Spirituality

In my second interview with Theoretical Astrologer, Robert FitzGerald we will explore his perspective on The Goddess and The New Religion. Join us this afternoon at 2 p.m. by calling the number below or join us in the Gathering Space at  Rocks & Things...Metphysical.

Robert FitzGerald is the authtor of The Signs of the Times Thisis a fascinating account of how time and history follow an astrological structure. This structure consists of astrological ages that are chronicled from before the Age of Cancer, and the invention of agriculture around the world, to the present end of the Age of Pisces, and the much-prophesied Apocalyptic end of the world. Within this pattern an end-time cycle emerges that explains the Apocalyptic energies that we see around us today. Astrology also promises, in the coming Age of Aquarius, a new golden age and gives us indications of what needs to be done to survive this end-time. ~~~~~Robert FitzGerald is an artist, photographer, and theoretical astrologer. For more than 25 years, he has been pushing the boundaries of astrology into theories of religion, mythology, mathematics, genetics, geology and physics. [Name of your book] reveals a revolutionary vision of history based on the ancient cycles of astrology. His vision of life on this planet promises to change the way humanity looks at history and at the world around us. He grew up in California and now lives and works at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, a community dedicated to expanding our knowledge of the world by combining spiritual knowledge with the scientific.

50 years since the assassination of Malcolm X are his words still true?

    in Current Events

Join us today 5:30 CST as we raise the question:

50 years since the asasination of Malcolm X does his words still have relevance?

His funeral was held on February 27, 1965 at Faith Temple Church of God in New York City. "All of us sitting here tonight, men and women, black and white, can stand a little taller because a man like Malcolm X walked on our earth, lived in our midst, smiled his smile on the face of Harlem," said Ossie Davis, an actor, director, writer and social activist, in a speech delivered at the funeral

"You are not suppose to be so blind with Patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong no matter who says it."

" Im for truth no matter who tells it, Im for justice no matter who its for or against".

What's the matter with Kansas? "The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy recently reported that Kansas has the ninth-most unfair tax system in the country.  A Kansan earning $47,700 a year pays 9.5 percent of income in state and local taxes; but someone earning $1,191,700 pays an effective rate of just 3.6 percent."

So much for the 'trickle down' libertarian economic theories masterminded by; the Wichita plutocrats Charles & David Koch, and implemented by Gov. Sam Brownback and his super-majority in the state legislature.

    Program Summary: 21 Feb. 2015

Kansas legislative news shorts provided by the Kansas National Organization of Women, the Kansas Democratic Party, Kansas Farmers Union, local news media, etc.

Hear what committee chief is holding up Medicaid expansion in Kansas, and why.  Also the latest last ditch attempt to keep irrigating federally subsidized crops in the Kansas southwestern desert.

2nd Hour - Hear the latest from "across the pond" (released for distribution 20 Feb. 2015) from investigative reporter, Tony Gosling & "Old Labour" Martin Summer as they host from the U. K.'s Bristol community radio station the "Friday Drivetime" show.
