The Cincinnati native holds a Masters in Psychology from San Diego State University. Tyra has been a teacher and principal, whose belief in the ability of children to rise above their bleak surroundings helped to turn around an entire school. She has been a psychologist, helping tormented individuals find their way to peace. She has worked in county government, crafting messages for the community and using her marketing skills to research and hone the communications and government services for the public.
For Tyra Garlington, there have been many obstacles. She has suffered abuse, loss and cancer and she stood her ground against each one, calling on her unlimited faith and her belief that God has a reason. Tyra Garlington turned her internal pains into talks that would help others who faced insurmountable odds. She is drawn to charitable organizations that tackle domestic violence, homelessness and children who live in worlds they cannot control.

Marcy has won three Golden Mike awards for outstanding news writing and broadcasting. With her co-author Jackie Hirtz, Marcy wrote television scripts for Nickelodeon's animated show "Doug"and educational software. Now, Marcy and Jackie have teamed up to write the Lola Zola series for tween girls. The first book in the series is "Lola Zola and the Lemonade Crush" and the second novel, with many of the same characters, is "New Girl on Salt Flat Road."
Jackie Hirtz, MS Ed., worked in publicity and public relations for authors and tech clients. She also taught elementary school for seven years before working as a writer in Concepts and Communications at Disney Imagineering and as an assistant to a producer at the studio. In addition to writing educational material for teachers and students, she created interactive "edutainment" for themed entertainment companies. Jackie's credits include Disney, the Los Angeles Times, Canter & Associates, and the Brentwood Media Group. Together, she and Marcy wrote for children's television, including Nickelodeon's animated series "Doug."

After pacing for 14 years to complete a higher education, obtaining a Doctorate in Religious Counseling from Gospel Ministries Outreach Theological Institute, she is now focused on giving men, women and youth access to knowledge and tools required to achieve. On all levels the focus is locating the potential and realizing through acquired knowledge the purpose.
