Sabre Tooth Animals-Fine Art of Paleontology

    in Environment

Sabre Tooth Animals will be the topic of discussion on Natures Talk Show Fine Art of Paleontology. Let's find out what exactly are these amazing animals and discuss how they have survived and adapted through the years. Could there possibly been more animals besides the tigers with sabre teeth ? No one can beat Nature when it comes to designing deadly, effective weapons, and some of the sophisticated killing tools of animals simply defy our imagination. However, one of the most fearsome weapons in Nature is also surprisingly simple. Saberteeth are such an effective weapon that they have evolved many times during the History of life, in completely different groups of animals.

Final Chapter of Black Survival Guide 2015

    in Self Help

This is our final episode of Black Survival Guide 2015.  I hope that you will find the lessons put forward helpful.  Tonight we will give a Dharma Talk on the subject, Lazarus has risen.  All the forces in the world today are working to destroy the Black community, black hopes and dreams, and opportunities to live.  They are also working to destroy anyone who sympathises with the poor, the broken, the oppressed, the ones that are favored by most meaningful religions.  Lazarus has arisen.  We have awaken from the consumer induced sleep that has caused us to stumble in a fog looking for esteem to be given to us by those who just don't care and who just don't love.  Lazarus has arisen and reclaimed the power of life and creativy that is the birthright of every human being.  Welcome back, Lazarus.  We are the world, and we are Lazarus.

Shame and Pride; Pity and Sympathy: No Match for Wholehearted Empathy

    in Health

I'm forever grateful to David Aspy, EdD, now a mentor from heaven, who taught me empathy and more.  He had directed the National Consortium for Humanizing Education in the 1970's and wrote Kids Don't Learn from People They Don't Like with Flora N. Roebuck, EdD in 1977, among other works.  I was looking for teaching strategies to help resident physicians improve their teaching skills as head of a workgroup for the AMA Resident Physician Section.

Al Vastyan, PhD in the Humanities faculty at Penn State-Hershey gave me an article about by Dr. Aspy.  I liked it and called him at Eastern Kentucky.  We talked a good while.  He sent me a packet of books including the one above.  I was hooked.  And excited about others of his writings such as Toward a Technology for Humanizing Education.

He invited me to Richmond, KY to learn more.  Dave spent two days teaching me about empathy, congruence and genuineness as applied to audio and video-tape analysis of teacher-learner situations.  He showed me the work of Robert Carkhuff, PhD about teaching and helping.  The Art of Helping, The Skills of Teaching:  Interpersonal Skills and the Carkhuff Interpersonal Skills Scale were included.

Two key pieces of the training were included in the Cognitive Functioning Categories Training Module by Dr.'s Aspy and Roebuck.  Listen in for more.  What about using these strategies for humanizing healthcare?

power of perception writers with Tina Panariello

    in Spirituality

New York Daily News said: “Life She’s Nailed It”. Tina Panariello says “I Just Did It”. No matter how she is described Tina Panariello is one gutsy woman. She was born and raised until she was 11 years old on the lower East side of Manhattan and was forced to move to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. As most little girls, she was a daydreamer. She dreamed of becoming a dancer, a beautician, and believe it or not, even a surgeon. Moving to Brooklyn was a big transformation that prepared her for what was yet to come.

Prior to owning Nail Artistry by Tina, she owned an in-home jewelry business and always dressed up her nails with beautiful polish designs which she offered all the hostesses, as a gift, for giving her a jewelry party. Tina expanded on that and with two clients, one nipper, one file and three bottles of polish started doing nails house to house, and in her home for two days, always dreaming of one day having her own salon.

Several years later, with monetary help from her parents, her brother Andrew, uncle Richie, and then boyfriend Frank helped her, from scratch, put her dream salon together. Tina, drew up the blueprints, and decorated the entire salon by herself. She is a self-taught nail technician. There were no nail schools at the time, but ten years of learning and attending many beauty shows, with certifications under her belt from being an educator for OPI, she was grandfathered and received her license.

Tina Panareillo, is semi-retired, and still the owner of Nail Artistry by Tina for 32 years, and a nail technician/artist/actor/educator/author, Polished: filing away at life’s truths, motivational speaker, and is an accomplished miniature nail artist.

She is a first and second place World and International Nail Art Champion, adding many other nail art awards. Panariello
