Many in our rather workaholic society value material success, financial accomplishment and other signs of work-related achievement. We may accomplish much but do so at the cost of our most important relationships and our health. What can we do to overcome society's pressure to work harder and harder all the time, often ignoring even a brief vacation?
Some studies show that many Americans don't even use the vacation time to which they are entitled. We also see a growing problem of obesity in our country and it's not just childhood obesity that is of concern. What can we do about this for ourselves as individucal professionals with significant work responsibility?

About this show: I lost both parents to cancer at 22 and 27. Let's talk about stuff that's hard, ways you can move forward in your life and how to get back to a happier place. My intention is to connect those of us who have lost our mothers, our fathers or both parents, at any age, through the arts, life experiments, looking inward and turning pain into something positive.
In this episode: I talk about my interview with Stephanie Fleitas from CreatingWithin.com and continue the conversation about birthdays: birthday triggers, why birthdays can be incredibly challenging without your parents and how they can be easier and more enjoyable as time goes on.
