  • Bears Get Ugly Wake-Up Call, RG3 Done in DC? & Arrieta's NoNo Means CY Yes Yes

    in Sports

The Bears took a step backwards in their preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.  The defense has tons of holes, and the offensive line is a nightmare.  Jay Cutler is the least of Bears fans' worries right now.

The Washington Redskins announced that Kirk Cousins, not Robert Griffin III, will be their starting quarterback Week 1.  Is RG3 done in DC? Will ownership & the coaching staff find common ground? I welcome in a Redskins expert to discuss.

The Cubs only managed a 2-4 record on their west coast trip, and the 2 wins both came from Jake Arrieta.  Just how close has his recent stretch brought him to the leaders in the Cy Young conversation?

Laying The Hammer Down On The NAACP

    in Entertainment

Hammer goes after the NAACP-Has this country the good ole USA lost its damn mind. This politcal correctness is tearing this country a part. We become weak if someone is doing ,saying, wearing something that is a offensive  to someone and we want it gone or stopped.Wake up America take this country back because we became blind  sheep and our freedome is being slaughtered. Case in point.

An Ohio police chief isn’t really addressing controversy that has unfolded since he was seen in photos wearing a Confederate Flag vest while vacationing in South Dakota, WKYC reports.

Port Clinton police Chief Robert Hickman said that he doesn’t “look at the Confederate flag as a racist symbol,” with some residents defending him, saying he doesn’t have a “racist bone” in his body.

However, some aren’t very impressed. Sandusky NAACP president Jim Jackson told the Sandusky Register that the attire was inappropriate in light of the controversy surrounding the flag, particularly since the Charleston, S.C. shooting.

"There are likely very few Americans who don't understand that symbol," Jackson told the news site. "You can't be ignorant because every individual in America understands what that flag means."

Addressing injury woes of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers

    in Sports

The injury bug has hit two of Wisconsin's main football teams.

Which five starting offensive linemen will we see for the Wisconsin Badgers on Sept. 5 against the Alabama Crimson Tide, and how will it affect their ability to move the ball?

Jordy Nelson's knee injury will keep him out for the 2015 NFL season. How much of an impact will that make on the Green Bay Packers offense, and how badly does this hurt their chances at a Super Bowl run?

Arizona Cardinals preseason game 2: The good, the bad and more to discuss

    in Football

The Arizona Cardinals lost their second straight preseason game, falling at home to the San Diego Chargers on a last second field goal 22-19. The result isn't all that important, as it is still just the preseason. But hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox find plenty to talk about, as they go over the positives from the game and the issue that came up.

They talk about the offensive line and how it went from being a great strength to a line with only established NFL starter to start the season. Will Earl Watford be able to overtake Bradley Sowell at RT in Bobby Massie's absence? What about the battle between Logan Thomas and Phillip Sims for QB3?

    GOP Identity Politics

    in Politics

Now that we have had time to observe the Donald Trump phenomenon, there is enough evidence to make a clear assessment of what it represents. The rise of Trump is an epic expression of frustration with the American political system, and it is a natural outgrowth of frustrations with America’s changing demographics; the hollowing out of white working class values and culture.  Ben Domenech Federalist

Jeb Bush signaled a major shift in strategy when he went on the offensive against Trump, criticizing him as insufficiently conservative; Bush’s allied super PAC flew a plane over Trump’s Alabama rally on Friday trailing a banner reading “TRUMP 4 HIGHER TAXES, JEB 4 PREZ.” Some Bush allies cheered his courage in taking on Trump, while others worry Bush may damage or diminish himself in the process. • AFC South - NFL Preview; will Luck be on anyone's side in this division?

    in Sports

"With the second pick in the NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select Marcus Mariota" and "With the third pick in the NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Dante Fowler, Jr."  The AFC South proudly had the Indianapolis Colts, in the AFC Championship game.  However, they also had two teams that drafed second and third, respectively.

The Indianapolis Colts have won back to back AFC East titles, and played in the AFC Championship.  Andrew Luck has been everything the Colts hoped for when they drafted him with the first pick.  Offensively, they can line up against defense and put up points. The finished third in passing offense, but a disappointing 22nd, in rushing.  Defensively, the ranked a modest 11th, in yards allowed.  The lack of pass rush was evident, in the AFC Championship.  Through the draft and free agency, the Colts added Andre Johnson, Frank Gore, and Phillip Dorsett.  Two areas of concern: the offensive line and defense.

Houston finished 9-7, and made the division race interesting, at one point.  However, J.J. Watt can not do everything even though he tried.   This team is the complete opposite of the Colts.  They win with defense.  They added Vince Wolfork, and are hoping that Jadeveon Clowney can return from his knee injury, and be as good as advertised.  Adrian Foster is going to miss significant time, which will hurt an already struggling offense.  The biggest question will be quarterback play.  They traded for Ryan Mallett last year, let Ryan Fitzpatrick leave, but Brian Hoyer is listed as the starting quarterback.  There should be no concern about defense, but offensively there are huge question marks.
