Students walked out of a Washington, D.C., charter school on Monday 2/2/15 to protest the treatment of three teachers they believe were punished for teaching too much black history.
All three of the social studies teachers at Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science resigned last week, and students said the principalconfronted them in front of students, parents said.
The teachers were then escorted out of the building.
“They were all escorted out by police officers because they were trying to teach us things about our African heritage,” said seventh-grader Kameron Gains-Gillens.
Parents and students said the teachers were let go because they taught about black history beyond what was outlined in the curriculum, and they’re demanding answers from Principal Angelicque Blackmon.
Some of the parents met Wednesday with Blackmon, who they said had adopted the curriculum of Montgomery County (Maryland) Public Schools and had asked teachers not to discuss Kwanzaa and the late Mayor Marion Barry.
“The school administration does not want the social studies teachers to teach African-American history,” said parent Shannon Settle. “We are on the campus of an HBCU [Historically Black Colleges and Universities]. We need to know our culture; the school is 90 percent African-American.”
Members of the D.C. Council Education Committee said they were examining the claims made by students and parents.
Students met staged a protest outside the middle school, where they presented administrators a list of demands.
They asked for new social studies teachers who would be treated with respect and more communication from Blackmon, who parents and students said was “antisocial” and abrasive.
Students also asked administrators to show them less negative attention and stop tracking them for the “school to prison pipeline.”
The Problem of Bullying in Schools
There is new concern about school violence, and police have assumed greater responsibility for helping school officials ensure students' safety. As pressure increases to place officers in schools, police agencies must decide how best to contribute to student safety. Will police presence on campuses most enhance safety? If police cannot or should not be on every campus, can they make other contributions to student safety? What are good approaches and practices?
Perhaps more than any other school safety problem, bullying affects students' sense of security. The most effective ways to prevent or lessen bullying require school administrators' commitment and intensive effort; police interested in increasing school safety can use their influence to encourage schools to address the problem. This guide provides police with information about bullying in schools, its extent and its causes, and enables police to steer schools away from common remedies that have proved ineffective elsewhere, and to develop ones that will work.
Bullying is widespread and perhaps the most underreported safety problem on American school campuses.1 Contrary to popular belief, bullying occurs more often at school than on the way to and from there. Once thought of as simply a rite of passage or relatively harmless behavior that helps build young people's character, bullying is now known to have long-lasting harmful effects, for both the victim and the bully. Bullying is often mistakenly viewed as a narrow range of antisocial behavior confined to elementary school recess yards. In the United States, awareness of the problem is growing, especially with reports that in two-thirds of the recent school shootings.
Deanna talks about the deceptions, the cover-ups and the operatives surrounding Sandy Hook. There are a few organizations who are trying to expose the corruption within psychiatry. One of the best organizations is the CCHR, which refers to psychiatry as an industry of death. Psychiatry has infiltrated education, allegedly to improve functional literacy. Any school, even if it is private, that receives some tax support, is obligated to the federal government and any government-mandated health programs. The psychiatric infiltration of the schools resulted in the following. Previously, the school curriculum always focused on the development of academic skills. John Dewey wanted to alter the literacy rate as it promoted independent thinking which he viewed as antisocial. In 1965, the government transferred $1 billion a year from the taxpayers to the schools where the literacy rate was 97%. By 1975, the government was spending $7 billion a year to improve literacy which had decreased to 90%. By 1985, it paid the psychiatry industry $14 billion and the illiteracy rate by then was 83%. In 1995, it paid the industry $21 billion a year with a resulting literacy rate of 74%. By 2005, the government was spending $28 billion a year with a literacy rate of 69%. Since 1965, the government, in its incestuous, unholy alliance with the psychiatric industry, paid psychiatrists to rehabilitate the guinea pig prison population – not with talk therapy but with high-costing psychiatric drugs.
Another organization is AbleChild which works to inform people about the psychiatric labeling and drugging of children, and the risks of mandatory mental health screening and prescribed psychotropic drugs without receiving informed consent.

How Planned Parenthood Duped America
At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the "black" and "yellow" peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger's American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood.
Sanger's other colleagues included avowed and sophisticated racists. One, Lothrop Stoddard, was a Harvard graduate and the author of The Rising Tide of Color against White Supremacy. Stoddard was something of a Nazi enthusiast who described the eugenic practices of the Third Reich as "scientific" and "humanitarian." And Dr. Harry Laughlin, another Sanger associate and board member for her group, spoke of purifying America's human "breeding stock" and purging America's "bad strains." These "strains" included the "shiftless, ignorant, and worthless class of antisocial whites of the South."
Not to be outdone by her followers, Margaret Sanger spoke of sterilizing those she designated as "unfit," a plan she said would be the "salvation of American civilization.: And she also spike of those who were "irresponsible and reckless," among whom she included those " whose religious scruples prevent their exercising control over their numbers." She further contended that "there is no doubt in the minds of all thinking people that the procreation of this group should be stopped." That many Americans of African origin constituted a segment of Sanger considered "unfit" cannot be easily refuted.
