The success of Michele Brody’s work thrives on the interaction with new communities and environments. She received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College in 1989 and her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1994. She has utilized a background in the liberal and fiber arts to create site-specific, mixed-media installations, and works of public art generated by the history, culture, environment, nature and architecture of a wide range of venues. While living and working in France, Costa Rica, California, the Midwest, Germany, and her home of New York City, Brody’s art career has developed into a process of working in collaboration with each new community towards developing an interpretation of the sense of a place as an outsider looking in.She has had one person shows in the U.S. and internationally. Brody has also won distinguished awards and grants. During the spring of 2006 she completed three major permanent public art installations in New York and Texas. In 2007 she was commissioned to create a permanent lobby installation for the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan, and debuted the first interactive performance of Reflections in Tea at the 11th Annual D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival, in Brooklyn, NY. In 2011 she was awarded Best 3-D Entry at the international competition Art Prize in Grand Rapids, MI. She is also in the process of preparing for an outdoor sculpture exhibition for Créations sur-le-champ Land Art at Mont-Saint Hilaire in Canada, and as the Costume designer for an international environmental art pageant in India for the Vaigai River Restoration Project.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
You…were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Christ does not give us freedom so we can live selfishly — that would be slavery to passions — but he allows us to live the way of heaven: which is love.
Rebecca J. Scott, author of Freedom Papers: An Atlantic Odyssey in the Age of Emancipation, and co-authored with Jean M. Hébrard, will discuss how they traced one family across five generations and three continents, into slavery and then back into freedom.

The Porch’s is a distinctive blend of live online radio/television discussions and interviews in the field of news, sports and entertainment, with a mix of playful banter and serious dialogue to stimulate the listener’s mind and encourage conversation. The goal is to educate and provide useful information to the listener in laymen’s terms; as everyday individuals (the multimedia personalities) discuss “water cooler talk” as a sports’ fan or casual news observer as opposed to the typical media anchor/celebrity. As news and information comes in rapidly, we look to provide the listener/viewer with an in-depth discussion as to how these updated bulletins affect the sports world, entertainment, and society at large.
Tonight, join an Observer as we discuss some thoughts I have had recently about moving, life, and how much I have grown in the past few years. Areas of interest include knowing our direction as individuals and as a race, keeping our sense of humor (and ridiculing the anti-Whites), and not surrenduring to them, circumstances, or ourselves.
Your calls are always welcome.

Betty Jackson (of Greensboro, North Carolina), better known as Versatyle, knew at a very early age that the stage was where she belonged. Throughout her teenage life she graced the stage in performances ranging from school choral productions to gigging at weddings and anniversaries to being selected by her choral director Donna Culbreth to sing at a master class in New York with Broadway producer, teacher and performer Ed Lindeman at a Carnegie Hall Training Room in 1997. Throughout the years Versatyle has been influenced by many musicians and artist including her favorite vocalists Rachelle Ferrell, Donny Hathaway, Whitney Houston and many more. But her biggest influences come from her very own family.
