We have a special in depth show this week where we take a close look at the role of seizure alert service dogs.
Magnolia Paws for Compassion highlights the remarkable impact service dogs can have on people living with a variety of medical conditions, but most specifically, those who suffer from epilepsy.
To raise awareness of the widespread benefits of animal assistance, Magnolia Paws for Compassion has enlisted the help of Brandon McMillan, celebrity animal behaviorist and host of the Emmy-nominated television series Lucky Dog. Brandon has teamed up with Eisai, the Epilepsy Foundation and 4 Paws for Ability, a non-profit organization focused on the training and placement of service dogs for children.
Next we will speak with Karen Shirk, 4 Paws for Ability CEO, who trains and places seizure alert service dogs, and then Tom Penders, father of Becky, whoes family received a seizure assistance dog through Magnolia Paws for Compassion.
It is a fascinating and heart warming story to learn how these dogs are helping children and their families better cope and save lives. You will hear first hand accounts of how these dogs are trained and the everlasting bond they have with their new family.
We are starting the Show with Julie Hall Karlock, the administrator for the Facebook group, Dog Euphoria and the winner of the Dog Euphoria Fashion Week contest, Trish Aleve.

TONIGHT Tues. March 24, 2015 on "NU Day"
While we continue our commemoration of African/Black Women's History Month 2015, we celebrate and honor the "Original Woman" from Antiquity to present day and beyond, worldwide, we will connect some necessary dots and do so with a thought provoking dialog and a LIVE interview with architect Rodney Leon the designer/artist of "The Ark of Return" that will be unveiled at the United Nations on Wed. March 25, 2015, commemorating this year's International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
This Year's International Day of Remembrance Theme is: "WOMEN IN SLAVERY
What nation has the United Nations deemed as one of the most sited for Human Rights Violations against women?
Step One: "We admitted "WE" were powerless over alcohol (addiction) - that our lives had become unmanagable." Who cares to admit complete defeat? Admission of powerlessness is the first step in liberation. Relation of humility to sobriety. Mental obession plus physical allergy, and spiritual malady. Why must every A.A. hit bottom? We know that little good can come to any alcoholic who joins A.A. unless he has first accepted his alcoholism (addiction) and all its consequences. Until he so humbles himself, his sobriety - if any - will be null and void. Of real happiness he will find none at all. Proved beyond doubt by an immense experience, this is one of the facts of A.A. life. The principle that we shall find no enduring strength until we first admit complete defeat is the main taproot from which our whole Society has sprung and flowered. It is a statistical fact that alcoholics/addicts almost never recover on their own resources, and this has been true ever since man has been crushing grapes.
Few people will sincerely try to practice the A.A. program unless they have hit bottom. For practicing A.A.'s remaining eleven Steps means the adoption of attitudes and actions that almost no alcoholic who is still drinking can dream of taking. Who wishes to be rigorously honest and tolerant? Who wants to confess his faults to another and make restitution for harm done? Who cares anything about a Higher Power/God let alone meditation and prayer? Who wants to sacrifice time and energy in trying to carry A.A.'s message to the next sufferer? No, the average alcoholic, self-centered in the extreme, doesn't care for this prospect - unless he has to do these things in order to stay alive himself. Join me and my special guest Monty Meyer aka the Monty'man from Take12radio.com this Fri nite Mar 27th at 9pm CT as we discuss dfferent versions of how people see the steps worked, then the proper way to work the steps
Peace and Blessings,
This evening on the Porch we will discuss how predictive programing and an ever ready Boule' class play roles in creating apologetic, sympathetic, and forgiving Negroes that stagnates any ground we make in racial politics. We're going to talk about how that creates the climate for the ongoing condition of our community. We're going to dive into recent events such as the apology of Levi Pettit, president of Oklahoma University's Sigma Alpha Epsilon who was recently recorded singing a bigotted song about lynching Black people as he was escorted to the news conference by State Senator Anastasia Pittman and a hoard of other forgiving blacks and look at the history of such behavior and the collateral damage that does to the progression of Black liberation.
So,make sure that you tune in and if you feel strong enough about it call in! So, make sure that you tune in to this week's episode of From the Front Porch with Professor Carl Tone Jones on The Initiative Radio Network at (914) 803-4571 at 6:30pm Est Friday evening.

This is a black arts and culture site. We will be exploring the African Diaspora via the writing, performance, both musical and theatrical (film and stage), as well as the visual arts of Africans in the Diaspora and those influenced by these aesthetic forms of expression. I am interested in the political and social ramifications of art on society, specifically movements supported by these artists and their forbearers. It is my claim that the artists are the true revolutionaries, their work honest and filled with raw unedited passion. They are our true heroes. Ashay!

Author Debbie McGowan
She is an author and publisher based in a semi-rural corner of Lancashire, England. She writes character-driven, realist fiction, celebrating life, love and relationships. A working class girl, she ‘ran away’ to London at 17, was homeless, unemployed and then homeless again, interspersed with animal rights activism (all legal, honest ;)) and volunteer work as a mental health advocate. At 25, she went back to college to study social science— tough with two toddlers, but they had a ‘stay at home’ dad, so it worked itself out. These days, the toddlers are young women (much to their chagrin), and Debbie teaches undergraduate students, writes novels and runs an independent publishing company, occasionally grabbing an hour of sleep where she can!
