I recall, when the GOP had fielded 16 contenders for the POTUS, it became the butt of jokes from a cross-section of personalities, most notably, Barack Obama, yet ironically, this may have been the been the best example inclusive, participatory democracy.
Of course over time, the field has greatly narrowed to just 2 serious contenders, with Kasich, Bush and Rubio being the holders-on; and I rue over demise of Dr. Ben Carson. So today, it’s Trump and Crux, which has proven to be a most acrimonious relationship.
Yet, on the Democrat side, we have a deck which includes a non-descript former governor and a 74-year-old senator.
No one else in the Democratic Party desires to become the nest president of the USA? What’s the real reason, Joe Biden decided not to run, after reportedly, his late son, Beau, on his deathbed, encouraged him to do so?
Of course, we hear the ‘age card” being thrown about, but in all fairness, a President Sanders would be over 80 years old, at the end of two terms (there have been presidents who have opted not to seek a second term). But, the point is made, in deference to a woman, at 68, who clearly not a “spring chicken”. Trump is 69 years old.
What I find most interesting, is how the deck has been so well stacked to assure a Hillary Clinton victory (i.e. no REAL opposition) – the most glaring example of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, based on gender AND race.
But, this begs the question, “will the black community swoon again, for another “Messiah”? Will we finally begin to THINK, in assessing candidates? I dread the very notion of a repeat of the ideological letdown of 2008 and 2012.
Will the reminder of scriptural standards be met with indifference or hostility, as it was and is, when it comes to Obama?
Tune in this Saturday; invite your friends and neighbors to CRITICAL DISCOURSE.
Life issues are common problems, issues and/or crises that happen to normal people living normal lives.
You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.
If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges.
You can't please everyone. When you're too focused on living up to other people's standards, you aren't spending enough time raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. But for the most part, it's all in your head. People care less about your actions than you think. Why? They have their own problems!
The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of silver.
He may have "loved" Jesus (at least, he loved the Jesus that he ministered alongside healing the sick and feeding the poor), but Judas also loved money (John 12:6) and being in a position of power (Mark 14:43-45).
This would make him hate the Jesus that called out the Pharisees (Matthew 23), drove out the money changers in the temple (John 2), and told rich people that it was humanly impossible for the them to enter Heaven (Mark 10:25).
Today, many megachurch pastors betray Jesus for fame and fortune. They love the Jesus that loves the world (John 3:16), but they hate the Jesus that calls out false teachers (Matthew 24:24), values ministry above merchandise (Luke 14:33), and despises the things the world esteems (Luke 16:15).
Many political candidates betray Jesus for power and money. They love the Jesus that supported taxes (Mark 12:17), but hate the Jesus who said “let your statement be ‘yes’ or ‘no’; anything beyond these is of evil.” (Matthew 5:37).
They hate the Jesus who defined success as being last, not first (Mark 10:31), and who did not seek the approval of others (John 5:41-44).
In the end, what’s the difference between 30 pieces of silver and…a 30,000 “member” church?
Or 30 million copies of a self-help book?
Or a 30% poll rating?
Or 30 million votes?
Shakira is featured on Life Lessons because we think she has something significant to teach others.
As a small girl she was rejected from the school choir and her music teacher told her that her voice sounded like a goat. If someone had said something like this to me I would probably be embarrassed to my core and would take on oath either to never sing again. But garnering the courage to sing infront of crowd in the same trait that was made fun of takes quite a character indeed. You need not fit everywhere: Her parents encouraged her saying “You have a beautiful voice, stick to what you are, don’t sing any less loud than what you think.” VALUE ORIGINALITY! The first two albums failed: Her first two albums Magia and Peligro, which were released in the early 1990s failed to achieve any commercial success. It took till 2006 for the phenomenal song “Hips Don’t Lie”. And in 2010 it was waka waka which has over 700 million views on youtube. What takes for someone to reach such a remarkable success- Persistence, patience, hard work, innovation, passion, belief, hope, dream, dedication. Giving it back Shakira is very well known for her involvement in philanthropic activity and charity work through her concerts. When she was young, her father took her to a local park to see the orphans who lived there and she said to herself ” One day, I am going to help these kids when I become a famous artist!” People have achieved a lot of things and some of them have decided to pay back.

Adele's life lessons come from her lyrics- all blissful moments of sensual indulgence. Our Top 5 life lessons learned from her lyrics.Don’t Believe Everything You Hear People tend to talk trash. A casual misspoken word can be the spark that turns into a blaze that ruins lives. In “Rumour Has It” Adele expresses her severe distaste for groundless statements with the line, “You've been telling people things that you shouldn’t be.” Although it is not in your power to control what others say, it is fully your decision when it comes to deciding what to believe.Be Cautious Because life is unexpected, it can be prudent to exercise a little bit of caution when it comes to matters of the heart. .Moving On In “Someone Like You,” Sometimes, your best play is to simply accept that, think good thoughts, and move on. Sometimes A Little Rage Is Good When you’re having a hard time moving on, you might need that burst of anger to help you finally see the truth that sets you free. Just like Adele says in “Rolling In The Deep”: “There’s a fire starting in my heart/Reaching a fever pitch, it’s bringing me out the dark/Finally I can see you crystal clear.” Value Your Relationship With Your Kids “Hello” isn’t about an ex lover. It’s about being away from the people who are the most important aspect of your life: your children. In her lyrics, Adele laments over her guilt of being away from her kids. Take Adele’s song as a cautionary tale and always remember to put your kids first.
