Basic Anatomy and Physiology for the Music Therapist

    in Health

Daniel J. Schneck is my guest today and will be talking about his forth-coming book, Basic Anatomy and Physiology for the Music Therapist. Providing need-to-know information about the human body for music therapists, this book covers the elements of anatomy and physiology that are of particular relevance to clinical practice.

Addressing both the structure and function of the human body, the material is presented with the music therapist in mind. Particular attention is paid to the role of music in affecting responses from the organ systems, including the senses, the endocrine glands, the immune system, the musculo-skeletal system, the nervous systems and the vestibular system. Dr Schneck also uses accessible musical metaphors to explain complex biological information.

Emphasising the symbiotic relationship between music and the body, this book reveals how an understanding of this relationship can help music therapists to practice more effectively, and will be of interest to students and practitioners alike.

The author's previous co-authored book, The Music Effect (ISBN 9781843107712), has sold over 2200 copies since Dec 2005.

Dr Daniel J. Schneck is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and the Biomedical Engineering Society. He has published widely, including 24 books, and is a National Book Award nominated author. He is an international consultant on basic physiological function and the role of music in human adaptation. He is also an accomplished violinist and continues to perform professionally. He is based in Virginia, USA.

The OC Show - Structure of the Male and Female Anatomy

    in Relationships

The issue of homosexual behavior has had a lot of publicity of late. Homosexuals say that the slaves have been freed and women have been liberated, so gay rights are long overdue. Society does seem to be moving in that direction. Many homosexuals are “coming out” and openly declaring their homosexuality. In many parts of the western world, homosexual couples receive the same recognition as heterosexual couples with regard to social security benefits. Some church leaders are giving their blessing to homosexual relationships, homosexual church members and even homosexual ministers.

Are homosexual relationships and heterosexual relationships equally valid?

Join us tonight as we discuss "Structure of the Male and Female Anatomy"

    THIS TUESDAY, JULY 28, 2015, 9pmEST

    ANATOMY OF OPPRESSION –PART IV
We supposedly have the inalienable right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but Black and Brown people live now and have always lived under and around arbitrary authority that is white authority. Control of education is an integral part of democratic organization - a very natural and obvious structure. Community control of police is against the organization of government control from the top down.

Jim Crow is not dead but alive and well and growing by the minute. The question for our next broadcast is...Do we have the emotional capacity to deal with this reality?

This week we will revisit the COMMUNITY CONTROL struggle for education and the NYC 20 billion dollar school budget as it relates to the reality of our struggle against oppression for freedom and liberation.

“CATS DON’T EDUCATE MICE; THEY EAT THEM.” - Ralph Poynter

A youth on Twitter sent this tweet: "#If I die in police custody. Tell my family I loved them. But don't listen to their calls for peace. BURN THIS *** DOWN TO THE GROUND!"
