Finding Meaning and Mission in Life’s Challenges: A Mother’s Journey with Her Son Born with a Physical Challenge.
The Southern Warrior Sister-Tribe turns the table on one of their very own: Maxine Holt Donaldson. Recently, she was featured in the Vogue Italia as a model; she participated in the Bella Pageant and was 1st runner up. But most importantly, she is a mother who cherishes her time with her twenty year old son, who was born with a physical challenge.
What seems like a tragedy can also be a blessing in disguise. It is all in perspective and what we make out of our lives. On this episode, Maxine Holt Donaldson unveils and tells her story of resiliency, hope, restoration, and tenacity dealing with a child with disability. Rather than give in to the circumstances, she and her family toughs it out on a daily basis, trusting God for who He is.
Our viewers will learn from someone who is daily walking the faith walk: How to find meaning and mission in life's challenges:
(1). Being the mother of a child with a disability, what advice do you have for new mom's who are facing similar circumstances?
(2). How has dealing with John's disability strengthened your family, Chris and Makyal?
(3). Was there ever a time when you blamed yourself for John's condition? If so, why did you feel you that way?

Cori Brackett loves life and celebrates every moment. She understands the expansive power of love and is devoted to helping individuals free themselves through knowledge, wisdom and personal choice. Discovering the ability to listen to one’s own body as well as gaining access to individual intuition, is what she believes, ultimately, can create amazing healing effects within the body and the spirit.
After having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002, Cori Brackett found herself falling into a deep pit of doctor’s appointments and medications, while continuing to get worse. Eventually, she found herself in a wheelchair with double vision and slurred speech. Slowly, she learned to maintain the balancing act between pushing herself to get better and having the patience to accept her then-current limitations. Hungry for knowledge and a clue to her symptoms, she stumbled upon some information linking aspartame to ms-like symptoms.
As she had been a fairly heavy consumer of aspartame and aspartame-containing products (an average of a six-pack/day of diet soda for twenty years) she thought there might be something to this and proceeded to investigate. What resulted from her investigation was the highly informative and explosive documentary, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World, its sequel, Sweet Remedy: The World Reacts and her multi-media memoir, Through the Shadows. Today, she lives a happy, healthy, authentic life and enjoys speaking to groups around the country and sharing guests with you who can help you envision a better world as well as providing the tools you need to discover that better life.
Dr. Terry Wahls is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa and a staff physician at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Hospital, where she teaches medical students and resident physicians, sees patients in traumatic brain injury and therapeutic lifestyle clinics with complex chronic health problems that often include multiple autoimmune disorders, and conducts clinical trials.
She is also a patient with a chronic progressive neurological disorder, secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years. But thanks to the power of the Wahls Protocol™, which is based on Functional Medicine and the Wahls Paleo™ diet, Dr. Wahls restored her health and now pedals her bike five miles to work each day.

International speaker and holistic wellness consultant Robbie Holz returns to the show to discuss her new book Aboriginal Secrets of Awakening: A Journey of Healing and Spirituality with a Remote Australian Tribe, co-authored with Christiann Howard. She is continuing to expand the explorations shared in the award-winning book she co-authored with her late husband Dr. Gary Holz, Secrets of Aboriginal Healing: A Physicist's Journey with a Remote Australian Tribe.
Journeying from bedridden patient to inspired healer, Robbie recovered from Hepatitis C, fibromyalgia and treatment-induced brain damage through her experiences with a remote tribe in the Outback of Australia. Her husband Gary, a pragmatic and successful physicist with multiple sclerosis, developed astonishing abilities after his transformative time being healed by Australian Aborigines, including telepathy, seeing the inner workings of his patients' bodies and channeling the healing energy of the Universe. Robbie's own healing powers blossomed in the midst of participating in secret Aboriginal women's ceremonies in the harsh Outback desert. Robbie shares how she journeyed past grief, with her late husband now a loving part of her spirit team.
Secrets of Aboriginal Healing was a Nautilus Silver Medal Winner, a Foreword Reviews Book of the Year Finalist and a USA Book News Best Book Award Finalist.
