On Today's Noon EST The-American-Family.com time show, Duane Breijak starts us out by looking at Undergraduate BSW Education. According to the Council on Social Work Education there were nearly 58,000 students in baccalaureate social work programs in the United States in 2014.
In today's show Duane interviews two graduating BSW students, Toni Debose from Oakland University and Trevor Verrier from Wayne State University who give their advice for future BSW candidates, reflect on their education and field placement, and talk about challenges faced during the years as undergraduate students.
Next, Katherine Van Wormer presents a segment on Grand Parenting, both from her personal experience and from her professional research and writing.

Then, Duane Breijak offers a show on Tackling Homelessness through Non-Profit Development: Interview with Angel Foster. With cold temperatures blanketing much of the United States and over 600,000 individuals facing homelessness, the pressure turns to finding solutions to this major issue impacting almost every community across the country. On this edition of Thirty Below I sit down with Angel Foster, founding member and current Board member of the Isabella County Restoration House. ICRH provides immediate, temporary housing to homeless individuals of all social and cultural identities in Isabella County and advocates for access to services needed by patrons to address their individual needs. Angel and I discuss the formation of the ICRH, common misconception about the homeless population, and how other advocates can start similar organizations in their community.

On November 20th, President Obama announced executive actions around immigration reform; including border security, focusing deportation away from families, and increasing the number of deferred action statuses. Three MSW leaders of the Social Work Allies for Immigrant Rights (SWAIR) weigh in on the proposed actions, give recommendations for future policy change, and examples of ways individuals can get involved in immigration reform efforts in their communities.
