This Week's Focus: Pray Always
Brief Audio Reflection on Luke 18: 1-8 (The 22nd Sunday after Pentecost, Proper 24, Year B.
Don’t look for hidden meanings in this week’s gospel. Jesus gives us the punch line right up front: Pray always. This wasn’t a message Jesus gave only to the scribes and priests who were in the professional praying business. Pray always: was a message Jesus gave to his followers: fishermen, laborers and homemakers who were all scrambling for a subsistence living. Pray always: is a message he gives to us, knowing we have mortgages and student loans, car payments and grocery bills. Pray always: may seem easy enough for a priest to thunder about from the pulpit. You may even be tempted to shrug it off as rhetorical flourish… dismissed and forgotten before you’ve cleared the church parking lot
Join Gredalin as he pops his proverbial cherry on the podcast scene or talkradio. Today is the first episode of many to come and I am looking for stimulating callers to really add something to this cast. Gredalin will get you pumped up and ask the hard questions and get you fired up by any means. Don't be shy bringing your opinion. Don't be afraid to get mad, to a certain extent; and don't be an idiot!!! I have no patience for idiots!!! You will be hung up on, no absurd last words allowed on Gredalin's show! We keeps it moving and we keep it real!! If you really want to talk about what's going on in this country right now and address the issues that the media and government continuously side step for another term while we suffer. Remember, we the people!!! Let's get angry and "Always Question Authority"!! with Gredalin!!!
The big question I have right now is centered around this debate: are we required to repent of our sins and to avoid sin once we have become "saved" by faith in Jesus Christ? Or is salvation guaranteed no matter what you do after that point? I've always thought I had this figured out but it's amazing what sort of debate there is going on out there. I always thought it would be better to be on the safe side and not only make sure that I myself used the spiritual tools at my disposal to be in a constant state of renewal and repentance, but also to believe that it is necessary for my salvation to avoid sin at all costs. Then, as a result I would be able to encourage others to do the same. And yet there are those who claim that someone who is "working" in this way is actually not saved or born again because they are allegedly trusting in works. This to me seems like a complete paradox because these are the same people who are saying it's blasphemous to believe that you can do anything to earn or lose your salvation, but then they are calling the people who encourage repentance unsaved. These sorts of debates are completely counterproductive to the gospel mission and yet they are central to the concept of our faith. Tonight we will discuss this topic without getting too worked up and try to make sense of it. Please call in and weigh in. What do you think? Can a person lose his or her salvation by falling back into sin? Can you use scripture to back up your viewpoint? Admittedly I can not properly put this into words, but hopefully that won't matter. I pray that something will get straightened out while covering this topic.
Also, what is the role of anything political in the life of a Christian? Do Americans have a special role/view themselves differently?
Call to join in the discussion at 1(646)564-9673.

Life Strategist and visionary owner of Life Learning Center of Self, Delrae Jean discusses the difference between mere 'talk' and true communication, explaining that true communication is always with, and about, self.
She reminds us... "As you were walking forward with each day you were being taught by beings who had so totally forgotten that they themselves were part of the divine Universe. So they took you away as well. With each time you tried to walk your heart you were told in some way or another to not follow your heart, you were told they knew best for you. Very few Parents have really taught their Children to question and balance for themselves what their actions have done.
Delrae talks about how important it is to truly start communicating with yourself if you want to experience the joy you came here to experience.
