The Common Core Standards Initiative has inspired A Unified Learning Supports to ensure Common Core is learned well so that kids will be College and Career Ready. In this Unified Learning Supports is a Comprehensive Counseling Guidance proposed by Alabama Sup Tommy Bice (maybe tweaked in Dec worksession and voted in Jan by SBOE).
Here are some food for thought gleanings from nationally renowned Education Expert--Linda Murphy:
"All students will receive a data-driven counseling program that promotes academic achievement, career readiness, and personal/social development", which includes their "attitudes, character, values and beliefs."
It is "aligned with ASCA National Model and its revisions and includes four interrelated components: foundation, delivery system, management system, and accountability."
The "ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs, and three revisions promulgate national school counseling standards."
It "helps students achieve their full potential through four program delivery components: School Guidance Curriculum, Individual Student Planning, Responsive Services, and Indirect Services." read more

, Creator of I AM teas and she is considered an energy healer.
"My name is Mimi Lam. My passion has always been sharing and caring. I dabble in many interests but at the core of my heart is how to live and love better. I was born in China, and have lived in the United States since I was an infant. I grew up helping in my family restaurant business since I was 7 years old. This prepared me for a busy life as a single Mom. Had a career as successful fashion designer for decades, including starting up a private label company for Vanity Fair in the 80's."
"Multi- tasking was the norm. I woke up one day and needed to STOP living on autopilot. I read many self-improvement books and was a workshop junkie. These experiences enhanced my life and gave me a start on an exciting journey of going inward and learning many forms of, energy, crystal, sound healing. I studied coaching, nutrition and esoteric subjects as well. This was a time of tremendous, internal growth."
Huffingtonpost.com published an article, Why Women Stay in Bad Marriages. They cited few people "want" to get divorced. It can be incredibly difficult and painful. As a results, an extraordinary amount of women (and men), remain in marriages that are unhealthy and even border on dysfunctional.
Most people want the ideal relationship and partnership that they had once dreamt of. Due to these beliefs and perceptions, they’ve developed certain default tendencies that either support their relationship or hurt it causing them to perceive their marriages as either 'good' or 'bad'.
Typically the couples that Debrah works with are frustrated that their partner doesn’t truly listen to or understand them; that they argue too often over silly or simple things. They are looking to regain that spark that they once had, to rebuild their trust and faith in one another, and to create loving, enjoyable, effortless partnership.
In this podcast, Debrah will invite listeners to think about reasons why people get marriage, stay in 'bad' marriages, is marriage right for you and how you can discover for yourself a new perspective about marriage.

Many times we’re so focused on what divides us that we can’t collaborate with others. However, it’s a must to function effectively in our diverse communities and workplaces. Author, philanthropist and adventurer Jeffrey Rasley shows how we can find common ground even in situations when there are conflicting beliefs.
About Jeffrey Rasley:
At the age of 55, Jeffrey Rasley left his successful law practice for more satisfying nonprofit endeavors. He is the founder and president of the Basa Village Foundation USA, which raises money for culturally sensitive development work in the Basa area of Nepal. He currently serves as an officer or director for five nonprofit corporations.
Jeff is the author of eight books. His most recent publication, GODLESS --Living a Valuable Life beyond Beliefs, shows how beliefs divide us but values unite us. This He has published numerous articles in academic and mainstream periodicals, including Newsweek, Chicago Magazine, ABA Journal, Family Law Review, American Athenaeum, Pacific Magazine, Indy’s Child, The Journal of Communal Societies, The Chrysalis Reader, Faith & Fitness Magazine, and Friends Journal. Since the suspension of professional football player Adrian Peterson stemming from charges that he abused his four year old son by whipping him with a tree switch, the debate has been ongoing as to the fairness of this decision. Proponents of corporal punishment say it is a cultural misunderstanding; being "disciplined" with a "switch" is a common southern practice, and most black families, it is argued, use this method of punishment all the time. Others call it child abuse. Asadah Kirkland, author of Beating Black kids, examines whether corporal punishment of any kind is emotionally healthy for children or does it only create violent adults?
