Lost Arts Radio Show #38- Special Guests Jeffrey Smith and Katrina Blair

    in Health

This week, Lost Arts Radio welcomes a longtime world leader in the effort to educate the public to the dangers of GMO food and genetically engineered organisms in agriculture, so that informed consumers can turn the tide and remove GMO's from the food supply by voting with our dollars. Jeffrey Smith is the author of "Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette", and is the founder of Institute for Responsible Technology (www.responsibletechnology.org). He also has a new movie coming out, "Secret Ingredients", and support is needed to finish production. Please go to www.secretingredientsmovie.com, to see how you can help hasten its urgently needed public release. Jeffrey is here to explain to us how the battle for GMO free and pesticide free food is being won by the rise in consumer awareness and the change in buying patterns, even as the biotech companies with a complicit and cooperative Congress do their best to promote GMO's and protect them from the constituents they are supposed to serve.

Next we move from our hopeful news in the GMO fight, to insights into the beauty and health benefits of wild foods and a lifestyle in harmony with nature, from one of the great proponents of natural living who demonstrates what she teaches in her own life. Katrina Blair, founder of the Turtle Lake Refuge (www.turtlelakerefuge.org), takes us on an imaginary journey to meet the thirteen common wild plants that can be found throughout most of the world, and refers us to their pictures and more details on her website. Turtle Lake Refuge has inspired local government in the area to forsake some of their chemical methods of park management in favor of the organic methods Katrina and the devoted Turtle Lake Refuge personnel have been able to demonstrate for them.

    in Sports

The main event of Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round on Bounce TV delivered a crowd-pleasing unanimous decision win (96 – 92, 97 – 91, 96 – 92) by Jamal James (18-0, 9 KOs)

Jamal James defeated Juan Carlos Abreu 18-2 (17KOs) via unanimous decision. The 6’2 welterweight James overcame the hard-hitting, scrappy and even dirty at times, Abreu, using head movement and clean punches.

The co-main event featured a young hot prospect fighting in front of hometown Erickson Lubin 12-0 (9KOs) dominating veteran Orlando Lara 31-6-2 19 (KOs) scoring a six round TKO. At only 19 years of age, Lubin fought with poise and patience showing a full arsenal of punches. After a sustained beating through six the commission stops the fight at 1:58. This might be the last time we see Lubin on BounceTV as his stock continues to rise in the junior middleweight division

In a special edition of LA FIGHT CLUB at the Belasco Theater on Friday, September 18, Golden Boy Promotions will present an action-packed card featuring Puerto Rican phenom Jeffrey Fontanez (16-1, 12 KOs) and Mexican banger Marvin "Cachorro" Quintero (27-6, 23 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight main event. LA FIGHT CLUB will be broadcast live nationally on Estrella TV at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT, and for the first time will be live streamed on RingTVLive.com.
