'Living a Life of Art' Series - A Visit with Alexandra Grant

    in Art

As part of the “Living a Life of Art” series, we’re focusing on a wide variety of female artists whose life and work stands out. Today, we’re talking to Alexandra Grant, a text-based artist who uses language and ‘networks of words’ as the basis for her work. She explores ideas across a variety of mediums, including drawings, paintings, sculpture, and via books. She ‘maps language’ via intricate wire filigree sculptures and large-scale drawings. Some of the basic queries that fuel her work are: How do we “read” and “write” images? How does language place us? What is the role of the hand in a world dominated by electronic communication?

Women, Food, and Desire with Alexandra Jamieson

    in Health

A holistic health counselor and co-star of award-winning documentary Super Size Me explores women’s cravings—for food, sleep, sex, movement, companionship, inspiration—and teaches them to listen to their bodies for a healthier, fuller life.

Transformational health expert Alexandra Jamieson is a woman on a mission. Having overcome her own food addictions and the weight and health problems these habits caused, she learned something life-altering: when we listen to our cravings, they will lead us onto the path of deep healing. Since her own personal breakthrough more than a decade ago, Alexandra has dedicated her life to helping other women learn to listen to the wisdom of their cravings and make food their greatest ally as they step into their lives with authentic passion.

From Amazon: In this powerfully feminine manifesto, Alexandra dares us to face our cravings head-on, to make the self-commitment to no longer hide out behind food, self-loathing, or the limiting expectations of others. With love, deep compassion, and fearless honesty, she calls upon all of us to boldly use food as a tool to cleanse ourselves of the nutritional, emotional, physical, and mental blocks that limit our ability to live full, meaningful, and joyful lives.

In this book she’ll show us how:
    · Our cravings are the gatekeepers of our deepest longings and desires
    · Transforming habits set us free
    · Detoxing unclutters our bodies and minds so we may engage in our lives with more power and authenticity
    · Embracing our sexual selves makes us more powerful
    · Trusting ourselves and surrounding ourselves with a nurturing community is essential for a vital, healthy, hot life

    Arrrrrgh Zombies!!!

    in Paranormal

Wikipedia says: Zombies are fictional undead creatures, typically depicted as mindless, reanimated human corpses with a hunger for human flesh. Zombies are most commonly found in horror and fantasy genre works. Some depictions are inspired by Haitian folklore, while modern depictions typically do not have that same direct connection.[1][2] Zombies have a complex literary heritage, with antecedents ranging from Richard Matheson and H. P. Lovecraft to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein drawing on European folklore of the undead. George A. Romero's reinvention of the monster for his 1968 film Night of the Living Dead led to several zombie films in the 1980s and a resurgence of popularity in the 2000s.

The Higher Self Voice - Polarities

    in Self Help

On today's show, Janet begins with Feedback from Alexandra and a short healing on Robin's son Ryan, whom we have worked on on previous shows. Ryan's healing leads us to the topic of polarities or opposites. We are conditioned to see the world in an either or viewpoint - black/white, right/wrong, good/bad. This can close off understanding and can create limiting beliefs that impact our expansion. Janet explains that standing in the center and choosing a more inclusive viewpoint is a helpful way to remedie situations colored by polarities.
