Thanksgiving. That time of year when we murder millions of birds to commemorate the slaughter of millions of Native Americans. Then after consuming a gluttonous feast we voyage to our centers of Commerce and trample the weak and elderly for deep discounts on extraneous luxury items. Ah, Amerikkka. We still seem to be able to do all of this regardless of the knowledge thatthe things that we are buying so cheaply have such dire consequences for, not only people overseas involved in its manufacture, nor the people being exploited in its selling, but also the environment, which affects us all. The current system is based on lies. the current system is not working. The current system must die like the hundreds of millions its already killed. joining us this episode is the host of Talkupy Annie Lindstrom @ccchicky!

New businesses open every day all over America and you remain unemployed! Why is it you can't get a job? People open home based businesses! Why is it you can't get a job? People open online businesses! Why is it you can't get a job? People open storefront businesses! Why is it you can't get a job? People quit jobs everyday, leaving a vacant position, yet you can't get a job! People are fired from jobs everyday, leaving a vacant position, yet you can't get a job! People die, leaving a vacant position, or leave town, leaving behind a job, or they retire, leaving a vacant position, yet you can't find a job! Young people turn 18, get hired on their very first job, and you can't get a job!
Ask yourself today my friend, Why it is you can't get a job! I believe an honest answer will bring you to reality that you can get a job and it likely will be much easier a task than you have been telling yourself. Develop an action plan right here at the Work for Life Show. Give yourself 30day target to make it happen.
"Most People Don't Really Know Me!" - Marion Barry Jr. Those are the first words written in his book. 3RD EYE OPEN celebrates Marion Barry Jr. as an American Icon. Young Marion became an Eagle Scout and earned a degree in chemistry from LeMoyne College in Memphis in 1958. As a sophomore, Mr. Barry joined the LeMoyne chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and became chapter president his senior year. While studying for his master’s degree at Fisk University in Nashville, he organized a campus N.A.A.C.P. chapter. Early in 1960, he helped organize the first lunch counter sit-ins in Nashville. That April, he and other student leaders met with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to establish the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. Mr. Barry became its first national chairman. After a year as a teaching assistant at the University of Tennessee. In June 1965 he moved to Washington, where reporters occasionally referred to him as a “dashiki-clad militant.” A powerful speaker and street campaigner, he began pressing for home rule for the District of Columbia, a battle eventually won. He had found fertile political soil, since residents had only recently won the right to vote in presidential elections and had virtually no say in governing themselves. In 1967, Mr. Barry started a jobs program for poor blacks, winning federal grants worth several million dollars. He won his first election in February 1970, to a citizens’ board created to smooth relations between police officers and black residents. In 1978 he ran for mayor and defeated the incumbent, Walter E. Washington
Slavery exists where a person is in bondage to something and cannot express free choice.
Drug and alcohol addicts know their habit is potentially fatal, yet they reach for the next hit. Those who sell this stuff are willing to give free samples and create the environment to trap those whose goal is an unreal flight of fantasy, a trip to the pain-free stratosphere. Play in that stratosphere long enough, and the strongest person will slip into the zone of slavery, and then the reality sets in, but escape is almost impossible.
Some hate their jobs yet are just as addicted to the paycheck, and stay for their next hit. That next pay-date, when for maybe 24 hours, all is well with the world. Too often, like the drug and alcohol high, this joy is also very temporary and the pain rush returns creating a cycle where you hang in there for the next payday, anticipating the temporary escape from the pain. This show is not for those who love their jobs, or for those who already know the freedom of doing what you love no matter how well, or how poorly it pays. This show is for those who love their paycheck, and hate their jobs.
There is a way to create your escape one dollar at a time. Few will take this road, because as much as the idea of freedom is appealing, the golden handcuffs of the paycheck yanks them back in fear. The painful known seems easier than the unknown path to freedom. Believing the road exists, that you can walk it, and read the destination requires a faith that has been stripped away the longer the paycheck golden handcuffs are on. Yet, some do take the first step, then the second, and the third. Learn How.
Some jobs are naturally stressful, particularly those that put ones life at risk. How does one come home after a long day of arresting people, pointing guns at people and even shooting people, and be pleasant to ones spouse and children? Domestic violence is often the secret shame children carry when they live in a home with parents who fight each other, and may even beat them as well. How can we help those who vent their pent up frustration and anger at loved ones? Is it possible to retrain people in police and security work to behave with courtesy, even toward suspected criminals? How would that affect police/citizen relationships? Creative artists explain how to defuse anger
Special Thanksgiving Show...
Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny little Prayer
Keeps running through my head:
God bless all my family
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm
and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.
You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends;
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scraps of metal
Takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them
Much the same as you.
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendships grew.
Please take an extra minute
From your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love.
Wherever else this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each e-mail inbox
And each person who hits 'send'.
When you update your Heavenly list
On your own Great CD-ROM,
Bless everyone who says this prayer
Sent up to God.com

This is our special Christmas Present Assistance show. The need has been so overwhleming that we decided to take this need to the airwaves.
If anyone out there has found that they just cant afford to buy their kids Christmas Presents this year, you are not alone. No dont feel bad at all. We all need help from time to time. We started a program to help.
If you need assistance this year, God wants to help you. God uses us to provide this help. The program is simple. If you need help, sign up or call in to get help. Then other families that are in good shape this year and want to help will choose a family to help.
Once you get your Christmas Presents, the Needs Met !!!
Dont wait until the last minute. If you cant afford Christmas this year, let God provide your Christmas through some one else.
Needs Met is a Christian Non-profit 501c3 Ministry that looks for needs in our community and meets those needs through others that want to help meet those needs. Needs can be most anyting like;
services like BabySitting, Resumes, handman services etc...
God is our source for the meeting of needs, but God uses you and me to do His work.
If you have a need, please let us know and watch as God meets that need.
If you have the ability and desire to meet a need, God wants you! God can use you to meet the needs of others. But you have to let someone know that you are able and willing to meet needs. Offer up yor ability, resource, or talent that you have and watch as God uses it to help those in need.

You want to play an instrument but you don't have the instrument to practice with and you don't have a teacher to teach you how to play. You want to have a good friend but you feel you have nothing to offer the friendship. You want to have a good job but you don't have the skills necessary to hold the job. You want to help the sick but you don't know how. You want to have extrta money but you don't have a job. There are many reason why you feel helpless, but you have to go on! How do you pick yourself up from a negative position of helplessness? You can do it and we will talk about different ways to do it.

The holidays are coming up and Corporations are going to inundate us with advertising to buy their wares. But what do the corporations really do for us, besides selling us something we need or want? Where do the profits go? Do they pay their fair share of taxes? Our communities are suffering from cutbacks to our police and fire departments. Our schools…well let’s not even go there. We know they need help and funds to educate our young folks.
Meanwhile, some corporations as Rep George Miller put it…”They are renouncing their corporate citizenship to take advantage of tax havens in Ireland, Panama, Switzerland or the Cayman Islands. They’re turning Uncle Sam into Uncle Sucker.” Don’t they have a moral responsibility to support the communities in which they market their goods? They are even shipping our jobs overseas. Are we not supposed to be equal partners in the American Dream?
Join me and my special guest Kevin L. Nichols of the KLN Consulting Group, “Leading the legal Industry in Litigation, Diversity, & Business Development/Social Media Consulting”. He is also an officer in the Bay Area Black Professionals.
Obviously we are not talking about all corporations. But here is a thought. If the large corporations are leaving a vacuum in services and community involvement doesn’t that leave an opening for home grown businesses no matter their structure? We will take a look at Corporations and the American Consumer on this show. This is where you get real news and information. Join us.
