    in Politics Progressive

An anatomy of oppression requires an anatomy of colonialism.  The anatomy of colonialism is merely a description ot the connections that we have which relates to economics i.e. jobs, education, housing etc.  Jim Crow is not dead but alive and growing by the minute.  The question is, Do we have the emotional capacity to with this reality i.e. The New Slavery ?.

"Relationship Tuesday" Why Do Women Go Out With Deadbeat Losers?

    in Romance

MEN If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile. But, if you put us on a leash, they’ll gnaw it off and go even more crazy once there free.  There’s a fine balance between loving your man and smothering your man. There are countless posts online where women complain about their deadbeat boyfriends for never paying for anything, never buying them gifts, always playing video games all day long while still living at home in their parents basement, and never holding on to a job for more than a year to save their lives. Yet, these women still latch on, hoping they’ll one day change their man for the better.

Settling for a deadbeat loser is like settling for a job you hate. There are way too many people who hate their jobs and keep on doing them, just like there are way too many women who settle for men who treat them poorly. What is it about non-ideal situations which makes us keep carrying on, doing nothing to change?

My theory is that in the beginning, most women don’t know the guy is a deadbeat loser. He probably is reasonably attractive and tells a good story about his current situation and his ambitions. Obviously, he will be on his best behavior during the wooing process. It might take one week, or it might take many months, but until a consummation is made, guys can be very charming! By the time a woman hooks up with the guy, only afterward will she see his true colors.

    Woman2Woman Talking To Men

    in Religion

Understanding The Role of Men And Women.  Join us every Monday night at 7:00pm EST by dialing 714-816-4636 or go to my Facebook page, "DyAnne Dempsey" and click the link to listen.

God said my people perish for lack of knowledge, so this show is to educate, enlighten and openempower men and women on who we are, and what our purpose is on this earth.

Women want to know why we have so many men not performing in the capacity God had intended from the beginning. Men want to know why women are not the help mate God said she would be.

God said let us make man in our image, and God also said it is not good that man should be alone. So if man is to be like God, and man is not to be alone, what happened? Come find out for yourself up for defeat. , you will be surprised at the answers.

What is our role as men and women? What is our purpose?  Come join us as we discuss these important issues.  I look forward to hearing you on the show.

Networking 101: Tips for Newbies Talking with Alaina G. Levine

    in Education

Conversations with Deli with your host Verdel Jones, talks to Alaina G. Levine about tips for networking for new college graduates.  If you're a recent college graduate you might be focused on filling out job applications, but Alaina G. Levine reminds you not to neglect good old-fashioned networking. She explains why this technique might just be what lands you your dream job(s). Alaina G. Levine is a prolific speaker, writer, consultant and teacher.

"Of all the tools in your job-search toolbox, networking should be at the very top of your to-do list," says Levine, author of Networking for Nerds: Find, Access and Land Hidden Game-Changing Career Opportunities Everywhere (www.alainalevine.com). "Networking is so critically important because it gives you access to jobs and other career-advancing opportunities that are not always advertised.  As many as 90 percent of jobs are 'hidden' and are obtained solely through networking." Levine explains that networking makes you known to decision-makers who, once they recognize your value, can engage you as an employee. Not only will these individuals think of you first for an opening on their team; they may even create a job specifically for you.

The Great Commission: With Bishop Israel Ikpeka- Nigeria, Africa

    in Religion

Join Bishop Israel Ikpeka from Nigeria, Africa, who will be our Guest Speaker:

The Great Commission: Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature... Mark 16:15

OUR MISSION: is one of deliverance. We will deliver the Nation of Africa from the spiritual, financial, emotional, social, and economic bondage they are currently facing with the help of God, and each other. It is time for them/us to return to what God has called them/us to be and do.

James 4: 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

It is time we worked together as the early church.  We have gotten so far away from what God commanded and God is not pleased.

OUR VISION: Acts 2:42-47: 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Interview w/Rising Indie Artist J-oH hosted by Qween$Ching

    in Hip Hop Music

The youngest of four siblings, J-oH was born December 29, 1984 in Washington DC. J-oH did not grow up in the ideal situation but his mother made the best of it and worked several jobs to support the family. His father played a role in the beginning but by the age of 4 he began to fade away. J-oH’s mother was his world and was always there to believe in him. Motown became J-oH’s life and R&B became his sprit. He grew up listening to classical, Motown, rock and soft rock, as well as Hip Hop. When his mom passed in November of 1993, when J-oH was 9 years old his father attempted to re-enter his life with no success.

J-oH knew that music was his future when he first heard Boogiemonsters’ “Recognized Thresholds of Negative Stress”. To him music was his means to escape and vent about his struggles and what was going on in his life at the moment. J-oH’s first recorded song was a compilation of tracks inspired by his family. It was from this point on that J-oH never put down the pen. Throughout the years J-oH’s rough upbringing caught up with him and J-oH found himself in and out of jail. J-oH knew he had a gift when it came to writing but it wasn’t until he did time up state that he was able to focus on and grow his craft. After focusing on honing is craft J-oH came out with his new sound and released a tack entitled "Guide Me Like Harmony".J-oH’s new sound was a reflection of his growth and maturity into adulthood. The man with many styles, a chameleon so to speak, J-oH has come a long way.

J-oH decided to team up with other musically inspired friends to form a team named V.A.B. (VA Bullies) Oh, and if you're wondering why J-oH is his name, it stems back to 2000 when he would battle leaving the audience saying “ooohh." He evetually began to be introduced as J-oH.
