Evangelist Charlette Jones (or Miss Charlette as sometimes called), began singing solos in church at the age of 3 years old. She was born into a MUSICAL DIRECTOR mom's home Elnora Jones that won an award for teaching, directing, and writing music around the MIDWEST Church of God In Christ community. Her father, Charles Jones is the 1st cousin of EMMETT TILL that was lynched and killed in Money, Mississippi on AUGUST 28, 1955.Songs, 1) REJOICE, 2) LOVE SO RARE (live), 3) AMAZING -
Miss Charlette's background gave her her flare and flavor for her type of music. She writes and sings wedding songs influenced by her fortunate experience with TRUE LOVE ..... which she wrote about and sings on her CD album, "My First Love." Which was actually her the 2nd love she met at age 13, CURTIS SMOKEY JONES. She met another teen love at 13 2 weeks before, Jerome, WHO she also is influenced in the area of CIVIL RIGHTS, since he later got into trouble, but came to know the LORD LATER AND now heads, Voices Beyond Bars, with his family, that HELPS THOSE GETTING OUT OF PRISON. She also has a song that tells you to REJOICE - It's a Holy Party, that SHE WROTE WHILE CRYNG ABOUT being mistreated and learned to party GOSPEL STYLE. She later became so encouraged and met great leaders like, REVERAND PAUL JAKES, Deacon Eddie Davis, Omega Frat Business man Darrell Mitchell, & wrote to encourage her children, sons Alonzo Smith, and Mr. Chris (Clarence Chris Banks). THE MAIN GOAL TO REMEMBER EMMETT TILL
Although Evangelist Charlette ventured out for a short time to sing R&B in the 80's and was offered a singing tour of EUROPE..contract by the STAPLE SINGERS & a contract by the CHI LITES when she was in CVS Chicago's highschool, she remains a SINGER, MINISTER OF THE GOSPEL & FILMWRITER.

Linda Rez goes behind the scenes with the band Terns and plays their just released album, To The Bottom of The Sea.
It’s been 6 years since Tern’s last album. Their latest, To The Bottom Of The Sea, fits the mold of their previous efforts; a collection of authentic and eclectic songs about life, love and the great divide. As always Terns hold to no real genre markings, blending jazz, jam and rock inspired grooves with fuzzed out guitar lines, ukulele, banjo and basically anything else that happens to be lying around during the recording process.
Tim McArthur and Jordan Fox stop by to share the stories behind the music and the creative process that went into the making of the album--years of jam sessions, experimentation, and bouncing lyrics and song revisions off of each other. (Other band members: Dan McArthur on drums and Mark Putt, bass and other things.)

Koko Jones has a story to tell. On Who's That Lady, her new album dropping from Motema Music on November 18, the percussionist reveals her hidden abilities as a lyricist and songwriter. While building on the artistic excellence and percussive brilliance of her previous world-jazz releases, Tenth World and Tenth World Live, Who's that Lady delves deeply into the 1970s and 80s soul and R&B crucible which first formed the percussionist/producer's prodigious musical vision, and at the same time renders a timeless musical narrative of this extraordinary woman's past, present and future.
A musician first and foremost, Koko - who was previously known as 'Bujo' Kevin Jones - is a transgender woman of color. That identity, as integral to her being as is her musical talent, has propelled her to a parallel role as an activist and a voice in the trans community. In addition to Koko's ground-breaking work as an interventionist at the Center for HIV Education Studies and Training (CHEST) at Hunter College, where she is a part of T-Talk, a project delivered by trans women for trans women that seeks to reduce sexual health risk, substance use, and internalized stigma affecting the community, she frequently speaks at events, and recently gave a TEDx talk at Seton Hall University and delivered a lecture on Current Issues in the Trans Community at Columbia University Teachers College. She is also an active member of Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC).
The November release of Who's That Lady happens to coincide with the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20.

Chronilus has returned! They are crowdfunding their album, Threshold. So RevKess and Kalisara get to ask all the questions about what they've been doing and, more importantly, where we can see and hear their music!
Chronilus is a new Celtic and World Fusion band from the Seattle area. Their enchanting vocal harmonies float over a musical landscape created by a combination of historical, traditional, and modern instrumentation, from all around the world. Here the clairseach, the brass-strung harp that entertained medieval Irish nobility, may play with harmonies from an electric guitar influenced by progressive rock. Funky electric bass may provide a solid foundation alongside the driving rhythms of the West African djembe. With a range of expression from raw, primal energy to ethereal finery, Chronilus' songs explore such subjects as connection, history, fantasy, and ageless spirituality.
AUDIO TECHNICAL NOTE: Bone Deep, Sonia, Manfred and Caera were dialed in on one line, so there may be some slight audio distortion.
