Joy & Service: A Path to Happiness

    in Relationships

Welcome to Happiness Index.  This week has challenged us and deepened our resolve to imagine and connect to the joy that is the root of service.  Albert Einstein said, Imagination is more important than knowledge.  For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.  We have been touched by such greatness this week and are pleased to have Leano Rice, artist and brother of Antonio Ramos whom we lost this week.  Leano and Antonio are powerful artists.  Antonio shared his talent with the public and worked with a team of artists to bring to fruition the vision of young people on a 4000 square foot concreate canvass on 35th and West Streets in Oakland, CA.  Leano Rice is with us today to share his visions of joy as an artist and a servant of the people.  He will continue his brother's work as they are and were partners.  Join the conversation, call (347) 539-5818 and share your wisdom on Joy and Service, a path to happiness.

    in Football

Well, at least that is what a lot of Dolphins fans are saying after our heartbreaking loss to Jacksonville on Sunday. But I say it is not as bad as it would seem to be. Despite what many fans are screaming for, I don't think it is time to start calling for Joe Philbin's head on a platter. We are still 1-1 at the beginning of the season with a lot of football left to play. Were there problems on the field Sunday? Absolutely....especially with the O-line and the defense.  So what does this mean for the Fins? Where do we go from here? Are the o-line problems fixable? Can the defense begin being the dominate force we expected this year?

Lamar Miller, Brandon Albert & Jordan Cameron all got hurt in the game Sunday and did not practice Wednesday. Should this worry us. How about the fact that Tannehill tweaked his ankle on Sunday. Is that a sign that he might be joining the rash of QB injuries this first 2 weeks? I can't believe that THREE possibly FOUR starting QBs are going to miss weeks due to injuries. So, Are we ready for Buffalo's defense on Sunday? Can we come together as a team andget a W? Was trading Will Davis a good idea? Also was activating Jonas Gray a smart thing to do?

JOIN US THURSDAY at 6:30PM EST as we discuss these topics and all of the other craziness from the first two weeks of the NFL season Join me, Chris Borei as I attempt to fill in for the vacationing Dave Hiley. Kevin Schork, and Hez by calling in at (516) 453-9433.

Albert Cummings, Chris O'Leary, Chris Barnes & Couch Kid Music With Todd Wolfe

    in Music

Albert Cummings comes out of New England and began playing the banjo prior to picking up the guitar. What put these instruments into his hands, what was it like to come to Memphis for the 1999 IBC after only performing for two years and the history of his music and recordings will be some of the things I will discuss with Albert as we listen to music from Someone Like You.

Chris O’Leary fronted the Barnburners, the band led by the great Levon Helm.  The last album, Live At Blues Now, was nominated for a Blues Blast Magazine Award for Best Live Album. His fourth album, Gonna Die Tryin’ has been released and I’ll discuss the road he has traveled and which occurrence, the album dropping or his son Jackson being born made him more nervous.

What can you say about Chris Barnes?  The man can act, he can write, he owns two successful clubs and he also owns Hokum Blues.  What is Hokum Blues?  It is “a humorous song which uses extended analogies or euphemistic terms to make sexual innuendos.” I get to finally sit with Chris and talk about his career and the new album, 90 Proof Truth.

On Couch Kid New Music, Todd Wolfe joins me along with his new album, Long Road Back. What has Todd’s year been like since he Sat on The Couch in August of 2014? How many miles has Todd traveled in that time? Why did he select the 2 covers on the album?  We’ll talk about these things and more while listening to songs from the new album.

    National Centenarian Day

    in Finance

Did you know today is National Centenarian’s Day?

It is a day to honor those who are 100 years of age or older.  The day was originally proclaimed as a time to listen to centenarian’s as they have so much rich history and wisdom to share.  Nationally, a number of groups have been formed to honor our centenarian’s.  Often, listening to their life stories proves the age-old saying that with age comes wisdom.

A person born on this day in 1915 saw the sinking of the Lusitania, the Bolshevik Revolution, Albert Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, the rise to power of Vladimir Lenin, the re-election of Woodrow Wilson and the end of World War One before the age of five.

What will happen if you live to be 100? Are you financially prepared?

Your Money. Your Matters is a weekly show broadcasting every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon Central Time, featuring radio personalities Rick Grady, Cornerstone Credit Union League and Todd Mark, Navicore Solutions. Plus, we have a wide cadre of guests that join us.

Each week, we discuss financial issues that are most importance to consumers. Tune in; share your thoughts; and gain helpful advice.

Manifesting with the Feng Shui Bagua

    in Self Help

Setting Intentions is not that difficult however setting them in a way where you have TRUE CLARITY in what YOU wish to achieve is where the challenge can be. It starts by determining where your life is out of balance and listening to your internal voice so you can face what needs to be addressed.

Working with the Feng Shui Energy Map - the  Bagua and a very specific “Intention” can be very powerful.  Rosie and Sharon will share ways in which to drill down and determine what the bigger picture is and how you can apply the Feng Shui remedies to your space.  Without the “intention” being clarified and focused upon you may not achieve as good a results.

About Sharon: Sharon Breslin is an Interior Alignment Master Teacher practising in Melbourne Australia.  She offers private Feng shui consultations, Space Clearing consultations and certification courses with the Interior Alignment School of Feng Shui from her studio in Albert Park.  You can contact Sharon on www.fengshuispaces.com and www.lifestylejourneys.com
