Al Diaz and Lesley Jones-Robertson share their insights on Rewrite Your Story with Love, Compassion, and Peacefulness.
Wednesday, Dec. 24th 10am PST
Since Lesley's personal awakening of 2008 and re-examining her life as it was, life as it should be, the main lesson that Lesley learned is that whenever we get stuck or so focused on the negative situations in our lives, we miss the opportunity to see the positive and see the reason we were meant to go through this experience. Just like a plant must grow in an upward motion from seed to plant, we must look up to where we need to grow, and not become distracted by the levels of dirt we must get through to break through to the next level, we are meant to reach.
Lesley's hope of sharing her own personal life purpose of peacefulness and guiding others to discover their own personal life purpose, would be to assist others in awakening or becoming aware, with a new sense or point of view on just how they examine the challenges that life presents them. Lesley would really like them to take back their power in dealing with life's challenges, and to try to keep a positive outlook and if at possible, a sense of humour when dealing with negative emotions that arise from dealing with these challenges. If you can find something to feel positive about and uplift your spirit, sometimes the blessings come a little bit quicker!

This Saturday, as we wind down to the end of 2014, we on Critical Discourse want to re-examine the impact of the shooting deaths of 2 NYC police officers, and what this means for future relations between the police and the black community, countrywide, but more importantly, what it means for black-on-black intra-relationships.
In the meantime, on December 21st, a Tarpon Springs (Florida) policeman was shot, run over and killed.
A sign of more things to come?
A slogan we've seen of late, Black Lives Matter, suggests that an attitude exists, whereby they do not, thus white and others' do.
At what point does the black community and other "people of good will" recognize that Black Lives Matter?

North Florida’s Mixed-blood Indian People, Rediscovery of a Forgotten People
In the early 1800s, dozens of Siouan-speaking Cheraw families, including Catawbas and Lumbees, fled war and oppression in the Carolinas and migrated to Florida; just as native Appalachicola Creeks were migrating away. Being neither Black nor White, the Cheraw descendants were persecuted by the harsh “racial” dichotomy of the Jim Crow era and almost forgot their proud heritage. Today they have rediscovered their past. This is their story.
Creek Eastern Siouan Cheraw Indians, generally located in the panhandle of Florida. Related groups (Porch Creek, Redbones, Brass Ankles, etc) in which we can establish a surname connection locally or by association later (Mt Tabor Community).
The Apalachicola River Indian Community Conference is a non-profit community-based tribal organization that works for the political, social, legal, and spiritual welfare of the Creek/Eastern Siouan Cheraw Indian people in the panhandle of north Florida. Its focus is to foster tribal cultural identity and unity, documentary historical research into our origins and history, and provide venues for communication, awareness, and growth. We are the descendants of the Indian people who lived in the 3 settlements whose history is documented in the “Our History” part of this website. These are surnames in our community:

Please have acess to the Qur'an and arabic letters and prepare to study that also. The history of the developmental climb to true Al Islam will be shared. Different cultural processes present different roadways to Al Islam, but the goal is greater than the travel and the traveler!
