RAPE KITS BACKLOGGED ON SHELVES, RAPISTS FREE AS BIRDS. WHO’S DOING SOMETHING?
We've all heard about the backlog of rape kits at crime facilities and police labs all across the country, and all the information locked in those kits that could be used to prosecute rapists and prevent them from raping again. The good news is that some states are actually tackling that backlog and making headway in those DNA tests - AND finding a lot of criminals. The bad news – huge backlogs still exist; it takes money to process this evidence; and some states are actually charging victims for processing and investigating via rape kits.
Erika Teschke, Founder of RapeKitWA.org, started out as your everyday citizen until she read about the nationwide issue with untested rape kits. Since then she has talked with leaders at all levels of the rape kit chain of custody in Wa State and with national organizations such as the Joyful Heart’s End The Backlog in order to help bring victim centered rape kit reform to her home state. RapeKitWA. org began as an educational tool and has morphed into a community based grassroots lobbying effort that helped to both educate the public about rape kits and steer legislation through the WA State Legislature.
Join us as we talk with Erika to find out what's going on with rape kits around the country with rape kits and the victims they represent.

Real estate buyers in the Santa Clarita Valley markets have been dismayed as of late because of the less than adequate inventory. It's causing them to slow down their approach and viewing of real estate, simply because there are not very many homes for sale. A few months ago I opined that there would be more units coming on the market for sale in the Santa Clarita Valley cities. And that is starting to come true. Looking back only a couple weeks ago we had 545 to 565 units for sale here in the Santa Clarita Valley City. I am only speaking about active homes. Not those homes and back up position, and not those homes in pending position, which are both categories of escrow. I'm speaking of the homes that are actually 100% active with in the Santa Clarita multiple listIng service. Santa Clarita Valley has a total of 612 active units for sale. 364 homes are in backup position which is Escrow. 278 homes are Santa Clarita Valley has a total of 612 active units for sale. 364 homes are in backup position which is Escrow. 278 homes are intending position which is also escrow. Special Guest vibing with us Rashida Strober the Dark Skin Activist. Part 1: We'll hear from our new sistar on thoughts about our men and the whole dark skin like skin ordeal and explain her views on the Kendrick Lamar blog that had everyone talking. Part 2: Do other cultures treat their women better than the American Black Man? Is it the images that are on television? Do most people feed into the negative images of Black couples? Many cultures make statements that the Black Man in America disrespect their women or the Black Man needs to learn how to be a MAN. Do you think that most cultures have a clue as of what's going on within our culture as Black Americans? Are we as women except to be treated like other women in other races or should we want to be treated as a Queen by our own men?

Program Summary: April 25, 2015
@Naomi_Fowler produces for the Tax Justice Network the monthly "Taxcast."
In the April 2015 Taxcast: How just are our tax systems towards women? Plus: one of the USA's biggest corporations (and tax avoiders) is repatriating billions from offshore and re-focusing on good old manufacturing again, and remember how the UK Prime Minister was 'leading the world' in transparency measures not so long ago? We discuss the letter a former Cayman Islands lobbyist and Conservative peer wrote to reassure the tax haven that it was an empty gesture to distract from the proposed Financial Transaction Tax.
Then from Great Speeches and Interviews, Sacramento, CA "Inside the Police State."
Police officer Adrian Schoolcraft secretly recorded his supervisors telling officers to manipulate crime statistics and make illegal arrests from 2008 to 2009. The Village Voice series that broke Schoolcraft's story was written by Graham Rayman. Ira Glass narrates the story. "Police Officer Schoolcraft, who worked in the relatively high-crime 81st precinct in Brooklyn, was not a happy camper. Some might call him a malcontent.
In 2009, he began to secretly tape-record precinct roll calls at which commanding officers ordered cops like himself to refuse to take robbery victims’ crime complaints. Cops were also ordered to downgrade felonies — which are serious crimes — to less serious misdemeanors so that the precinct would appear safer than it actually was. Schoolcraft’s secret tape recordings might well have been ignored, had not the police department then done something shocking. On Oct. 31, 2009, Schoolcraft left his tour early, saying he felt sick, and returned to his apartment in Queens. What happened next tells us much about "the police state."
Silence is Surrender I want all those folks who are undecided, non-committal and in the middle to tell me why. You know who you are. You’re the ones who let the rest of us on the two ends of the spectrum do all the debating, discussing, arguing, and posting of all manner of articles, memes, tweets, and blog post on subjects ranging from climate change, marriage equality, women’s right, money in politics, trade deals, political candidates, and on, and on, and on. Why? Why don’t you participate? Why do you leave the important issues to others? Call me and help me to understand how it is that two-thirds of you didn’t even bother to exercise your most precious right in the last election? This will be such an exciting show! Antoine Chevalier of The Light Portal is someone I met a few years back. He is a gifted intuitive, and helps people improve their lives. He uses the Light Portal to see into another dimension, or he is sensitive to a different set of wavelengths vibrating at a faster speed. All I know is that I saw people when I went through this modality, and I also saw a tiger, more specifically, its eye (This happened way before Katy Perry's song, BTW). Antoine saw a whole phlanx of people lined up to help me. I say, bring 'em on! I need help right about now.
No, seriously folks, Antoine is very gifted and works with energy flow in other healing modalities too. I will let him fill you in on his background and how he came to do this very important work.
