For the White House, a major win on net neutrality might come at a cost — scuttling everything else on Washington’s tech and telecom agenda next year.
The Federal Communications Commission is racing to write rules that require Internet service providers to treat all Web traffic equally, and many expect the agency will follow President Barack Obama’s call to treat broadband service like a utility. Telecom giants and Republican lawmakers say that will create burdensome new regulation — and the issue has already incited a lobbying frenzy, raised the specter of lawsuits and ignited new partisan fires on Capitol Hill.

"In the cloud-washed airspace between the cornfields of Illinois and blue infinity, a man puts his faith in the propeller of his biplane. For disillusioned writer and itinerant barnstormer Richard Bach, belief is as real as a full tank of gas and sparks firing in the cylinders ...until he meets Donald Shimoda - former mechanic and self-described messiah who can make wrenches fly and Richard's imagination soar...In Illusions, the unforgettable follow-up to his phenomenal New York Times bestseller Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach takes to the air to discover the ageless truths that give our souls wings: that people don't need airplanes to soar ...that even the darkest clouds have meaning once we lift ourselves above them ...and that messiahs can be found in the unlikeliest places - like hay fields, one-traffic-light midwestern towns, and most of all, deep within ourselves."
Published in 1977, this book has continued to entertain, fascinate and educate readers throughout the decades. Join us for a discussion of Illusions by Richard Bach.

The first hour is focused on the largely unknown technology of activating the dormaint healing power of water through multiple cycles of heating and cooling. Based on the information given by Plato of awakening the miracle properties of water through boiling and cooling water, changing the hydrogen bonding angle allowing easy absorbtion into the cells and through the skin. John Ellis had the best Discus Throw in the World in 1957 (Track & Field News Vol 10, No 12) but gave it up because of ANABOLIC STEROIDS that causes a host of problems including HEART ATTACKS! At the time it was considered “safe” but I knew it wasn’t and now in my 85th year I know I was right because most of the discus, shot and hammer throwers are DEAD! They were great friends and I knew them all including Al Oerter (won 4 Olympics)! He and his wife went to visit my daughter and Al told my daughter: “Your father invented the way they throw the discus!”
Other inventions for credibility because I am always inventing “the impossible”: At The Choate School I knew George and Igor Sikorsky (the sons of helicopter inventor Igor Sikorsky). They peaked my interest in aerospace and as a result at 17 I invented a measuring device that keeps our airplanes safe even today and I became an Engineer at Douglas Aerospace.
Also for credibility: A micro switch that operates on-off within .0001 of an inch (about 1/40th of a human hair thickness) for military/industrial use (Honeywell to ITT: “He’s the only person in the world that knows how to produce it in volume!”) and now with an Engineering Degree from Lafayette College that includes Steam Plant Design…CHEAP ENERGY FROM WATER (VIDEO on the website) to also supply cheap fuel and electricity to our citizens!
Have you noticed anything strange about media coverage of the Germanwings Airbus A320 crash? Any contradictions, anomalies, or holes in the story? You're not alone! The farcical trial by-media of 27-year-old co-pilot Andreas Lubitz - immediately blamed for taking control of, and then deliberately crashing, the Barcelona-to-Dusseldorf Flight 9525 into the French Alps on March 24th - has been stunning to behold. But could this outrageous conspiracy theory actually be an important clue to what really happened to the plane?
Join your hosts as they go Behind the Headlines to find out what really happened to Germanwings Flight 9525 - Sunday, 5 April 2015, from 2-4pm EST / 11am-1pm PST / 7-9pm UTC / 8-9pm CET. If you have any comments or questions, join the chatroom or call into the show!

Happy Easter!!! Today we are reading Romans Chapter 13.
Paul's spree of advice continues. Everyone should obey people in positions of authority. After all, all authority comes from God, so all the authority figures running around out there must have been hand-picked by God. Makes sense… sort of. That means if you go against someone in a position of authority, then you're really going against God. Remember that next time you throw paper airplanes at your Spanish teacher. Basically, Paul says, if you just keep walking the straight and narrow and don't step out of line you should be fine. If you do, those authority figures have swords and they're not afraid to wield them. (Ironic historical footnote: about 10 years after writing this, Paul was executed by the Roman authorities. Wonder if that might make him revise his thoughts in this section just a little?) Same thing goes for paying taxes. Sorry, Tea Party and Henry David Thoreau—you've got to pay them. If you owe money to the government, fork it over. And if you owe respect and honor to people in positions of power, then start practicing your groveling now. Don't walk around owing anyone anything. Period. Oh, except love. You should owe everyone love all the time. And pay it as often as possible. That's the essence of all of Jewish law anyway, love. Paul thinks the Ten Commandments can pretty much be boiled down to "Love your neighbor as yourself." It's really pretty simple, guys. The hour is at hand. Salvation is coming soon to a theater near you. Any minute now, Jesus is gonna come down from Heaven again and make some non-believers feel pretty darn foolish. Yup. He's talking about the second coming, folks. So let's all just be good little boys and girls so we can always be prepared for this. Basically just keep focused on Christ and do what's good all the time. Easy, right? Thanks to shmoop.com
Paul Hellyer is one of Canada’s best known and most controversial politicians. First elected in 1949, he was the youngest cabinet minister appointed to Louis S. St. Laurent’s government eight years later. He subsequently held senior posts in the governments of Lester B. Pearson and Pierre E. Trudeau, who defeated him for the Liberal Party leadership in 1968. The following year, after achieving the rank of senior minister, which was later designated Deputy Prime Minister, Hellyer resigned from the Trudeau cabinet on a question of principle related to housing.
Although Hellyer is best known for the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces and for his 1968 chairmanship of the Task Force on Housing and Urban Development, he has maintained a life-long interest in macroeconomics. Through the years, as a journalist and political commentator, he has continued to fight for economic reforms and has written several books on the subject.
A man of many interests, Hellyer’s ideas are not classroom abstractions. He was born and raised on a farm and his business experience includes manufacturing, retailing, construction, land development, tourism and publishing. He has also been active in community affairs including the arts and studied voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. His multi-faceted career, in addition to a near-lifetime in politics, gives Hellyer a rare perspective on what has gone wrong with world economies.
In recent years he has become interested in the extraterrestrial presence and their superior technology that we have been emulating. In September 2005 he became the first person of cabinet rank in the G8 group of countries to state unequivocally “UFO’s are as real as the airplanes flying overhead.”

Hosts Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon resume their discussion from last week about self-driving cars in light of the tragic news about Germanwings flight 9525.
Statistics show that pilot error has consistently caused between 50% and 60% of all airplane crashes over the decades. Deliberate sabotage accounts for another 3% to 10% annually. Then there's "other human error" accounting for another 6%. Large portions of the process of controlling a commercial aircraft have already been successfully automated. As with self-driving cars: fully self-flying airplanes could be substantially less than perfect and yet still out-perform humans by a signficant margin.
Is it time for the switch? How hard (or easy) will it be?

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Department of Justice has been using Cessna aircraft equipped with Stingray-like devices called Dirtboxes that act as fake cell phone towers. The devices are used like the Stingray units to capture data from the cell phones of supposed "targets." It's clear that many innocent Americans phone data is being snapped up at the same time.
