Agyei Tyehimba was born and raised in the famed 'Sugar Hill' section of Harlem. His parents - George and Adrienne Stith - gave him the best of both worlds. His mother emphasized the importance of character development, education and charity, while his father developed street sense and a love for Black history and culture. In addition to teaching, Mr. Tyehimba has provided numerous workshops to help parents understand and exercise their rights and to advocate for their children's academic success. Agyei currently coordinates Boys To Men, a group providing mentorship and life management skills to middle school boys between the ages of 10 and 13.

Join KM for this week's segment of ANU Asafo as she talks with Akwete Tyehimba of Pan African Connection Bookstore located in Dallas, TX. The Pan African Connection Bookstore has been a significant contributor for African centered books, art, and community activities. In this week's show Akwete Tyehimba shares with us the importance of having a family business, the significance of African culture, and how her family's mission to have an impact on their community has been the focal point of the bookstore.
The ANU spiritual Order is a way of learning that allows the student to place themselves at the center of the learning experiences as opposed to memorizing rituals, names, and protocol that serve little when it comes down to reality reconstruction.

A few months ago, the annual SANKOFA CONFERENCE, celebrated 25 years of uncompromising Afrikan Centeredness. I have been lucky to attend about 14 of these.
Today, we shall share the lead article by the Creators of the conference, Baba Agyei & Mama Akua Akoto entitled
A NARROW AND WELL WORN ROAD: EKWAN OBININI (eh-kwan Oh-bee-nee-nee),
where they reflect on their own 30-plus organizational experience--where they have been & where they still have to go. Ideally other SERIOUS groups are to use this model to guage their own development and adjust accordingly...and if not, they should go away quietly.
Brother Kamau of Bolekaja Enterprises and Afrika's Reascention will share the lead article by the Creators of the Sankofa conference, Baba Agyei & Mama Akua Akoto entitled A NARROW AND WELL WORN ROAD: EKWAN OBININI (eh-kwan Oh-bee-nee-nee),
