NLDS EVE: @NYM_News from Instagram and guest host Billy Berler, a young die-hard Mets fan, are here to discuss and preview the New York Mets NLDS showdown vs the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mets fans from all over will chime in to discuss their beloved Mets for 30 minutes. Callers will be able to bring up any Mets' related topic and Billy and I will discuss it. The show should be able to have people calling in for 30 minutes, but after that, it'll just be Billy and I talking amongst ourselves. The actual show should be around 45 minutes though. Don't be the one to miss out.
Join us at 11:00 PM ET!
We have reached the eve of the New York Mets first playoff game in nine years.
Senior staff writer Michael Lecolant will host Friday evening's Rising Apple roundtable discussion, with site editor Danny Abriano, staff veteran Rich Sparago, and recent additions to the team Jack Irving and Devin Lintao, providing all the Mets analysis, opinion, and insight one could reasonably ask for.
Allowing us to share her omniscience in all thing Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers will be my friend and our featured guest, Emma Amaya from A Dodger Blue World at MLBlogs.
When the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants eloped hand in hand to California, they left behind a lovechild whom the jilted citizens of New York City named the Metropolitans, or Mets for short. The histories of these three teams, therefore, will forever remain intertwined.
Generational differences finally came to a head when the old establishment Los Angeles Dodgers took their expansion era junior to task during the 1988 National League championship series.
After 18 mostly trying seasons, the Mets finally exacted their revenge upon the Dodgers during the 2006 NLDS.
Friday evening, and for only the third time in their respective histories, the New York Mets will oppose the Los Angeles Dodgers in post-season play.
Family feuds are usually the worst kinds.
Welcome to the 2015 NLDS folks. And welcome to the 120th episode of the Rising Apple Report.
The show starts at 9:00pm (ET) sharp! Of course, you're welcome to participate. The number to call is 646-929-0337.

Avant is a name that has been used in the context of being original or innovative but the singer/songwriter from Cleveland has transformed the word into a powerhouse brand. Since breaking out on the music scene with his first platinum hit singles, “Separated” and “My First Love”—he has been on a non-stop journey having released seven albums in the last 15 years.
Avant has toured with some of the biggest names in the R&B world from Joe, Jagged Edge and Keith Sweat. He is preparing for the new album release, The VIII in September 2015. This spring he released the debut single from the album, “Special” which is romantic song that breathes new life into love and commitment.
Luke Christopher isn’t about to wait around for anybody. Instead of relying on singers or producers, the Los Angeles rapper can belt out a hook with the best of them, and he remains an accomplished producer and beat maker in his own right. On his two new EPs YSTRDY and TMRW for ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records, his singular vision only starts to unfold, encompassing airtight rhymes, cinematic storytelling, keen wit, and a little bit of wisdom.
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, music surrounded Luke. At a young age, his father turned him on to the likes of Elton John, U2, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. However, hip-hop found him one Christmas when 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me sat under the tree. In high school, he converted the bottom bed of his bunk beds into a makeshift studio. There, he taught himself how to rap, sing, and compose beats. By his seventeenth birthday, he was ready to be properly heard, and major labels clamored for this strangely soulful and emotionally expansive style.
The New York Mets are in the postseason for the first time since 2006 and the Blue & Orange Nation Talking Mets podcast will preview their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hosts Vinnie & Mike will be joined by special guests Steve Keane of Eddie Kranepool Society and Ed Marcus of Mets Police to discuss all things Mets gearing up for the big showdown.
EACH HALLOWEEN SEASON for the past ten years the Rolling Darkness Revue, a traveling fraternity of some of horror fiction’s premier talents, has presented an evening of new supernatural stories in celebration of the genre’s favorite holiday. A full theatrical experience which incorporates comedy, drama, and live music to illuminate and enhance the Halloween tradition of ghost story readings, the Revue was founded by Peter Atkins, Dennis Etchison, and Glen Hirshberg in 2004 and has been curated by Atkins & Hirshberg since 2006. The Revue began performing in bookstores, libraries, and parking lots, making the move to small theatres in 2009 as the show grew in nature (and audience). As well as becoming an October ritual for fans and readers, RDR has received glowing notices from, among others, the Los Angeles Times and National Public Radio’s Weekend Edition. Stories which have premiered at the Revue have many times been selected for inclusion in annual ‘Year’s Best’ anthologies from such noted editors as Ellen Datlow, Stephen Jones, and Paula Guran, and guest authors over the life of the show have included such genre and mainstream notables as Norman Partridge, Nancy Holder, Aimee Bender, Michael Blumlein, and Kim Newman. From the beginning, live music has been provided by the noted local ambient musicians Jonas Yip & Rex Flowers and, since 2009, acclaimed local actor Kevin Gregg has become an invaluable part of the cast. PETER ATKINS: Author of Morningstar, Big Thunder, Rumours of the Marvellous, and the movies Wishmaster and Hellraiser II-IV. “Atkins is a brilliant supplier of shudders and splendors” – Clive Barker. GLEN HIRSHBERG: Award-winning author of The Two Sams, American Morons, and Motherless Child. “A writer to watch and treasure” – Peter Straub.
