Tonight's special guest is Deb Maybury, a returning NAASCA family member, public speaker, activist, Harmony Integration Coach and facilitator at The Gatehouse in Toronto, and author of "Unlock The Door-Beyond Sexual Abuse" and "What Is Your Teenage Daughter Afraid Of?" She describes herself as an entrepreneur .. a woman of many hats who's focus is on assisting others in their healing process through awareness, support and connection. It is her mission to be part of the movement to remove the stigma and taboo associated with sexual abuse and to do that in a way that promotes a healing. In 2006, her dearest old friend of 33 years lost her battle with cancer. She told Deb, "I'm not afraid of dying; I'm just not ready to go.” Ms. Maybury's response? "I told her that if she was leaving me here I was just going to have to do, be, become, enjoy, and learn enough for both of us. In her memory, I continue to strive to learn, teach, and challenge myself and others." Ms Maybury has certainly kept her promise and is an excellent representative of the NAAASCA family and mission. She also hosts her own "Reveal, Connect and Heal" talk shows, and recently interviewed NAASCA founder, Bill Murray.
The abuse of grace in the House of the LORD!
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (Romans 6:1-2,15-16)
Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:28-29)
And she said, “The Philistines are upon you, Samson!” So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him. (Judges 16:20)
But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him. (1 Samuel 16:14)
Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:11)

OPEN TOPIC or "open mike" night. Call in! Pick any issues, topics or subjects you'd like to discuss. Wearing a Blue Ribbon is the symbol of Child Abuse Awareness! Millions of abuse victims (men and women) hide the story of their experience well into adulthood. A huge number continue to suffer from pain, anger, fear, shame and embarrassment for decades. Most will agree their traumas have resulted in an inability to trust, make good decisions and have healthy relationships. But giving up the secret is often how recovery begins, one survivor talking to another. Join Bill Murray and his co-hosts, panelists and guests, many of them abuse survivors, others supporters and friends, for an informed discussion of the many important issues that surround child abuse. Anonymous calls and chat room participation are encouraged. ~~ Please see our web site at: www.NAASCA.org
In August, cartoonist Aaron McGruder, creator of the infamous Boondocks comic strip and cartoon series will premier a new show titled "Black Jesus" on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim time slot. The comedy parody show features a live action series of Jesus as a black man in Compton, CA. This show has brought about good and negative publicity for AS and McGruder, but how should black pastors engage the show and the viewers? Is the show any more offensive than Jesus Christ Superstar, Tyler Perry's Madea series, or even George Burns' O God movie series?

Tonight's special guest is Polly Moore from Atlanta, Georgia, the Executive Administrative Assistant of Angela Williams, Founder of VOICE Today, a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle and silence of child sexual abuse through awareness, prevention, and healing programs. She began volunteering with VOICE Today on July 17, 2012, the day after she broke her silence. She'd found her voice at VOICE Today’s support group the night before. Polly grew up with six siblings in Mobile, Alabama, but was only 8 years old when her father died of lung cancer. Soon two neighborhood boys began to molest her, friends of her older twin brothers. A couple of years later she was assaulted by another neighbor and later by her older brother. She was able to break away from the abuse at the age of twelve, but was by then deep in the darkness of isolation. Polly is now a mother and grandmother, and has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years. She is contemplating returning to finish her final year at Western Carolina University where she majored in Accounting, and has become a devoted advocate for adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. Polly says she will forever continue to help fellow adult survivors find their voice and welcome their healing through the working of Angela Williams and VOICE Today.
