This One Step - Older Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse

    in Psychology

    Tuesday

Speaking the truth to your family.

Telling your family that you were molested as a child is about the hardest part of breaking your silence.  Many of us were molested by a family member who is respected and loved by most.  You will begin to stack the reasons and excuses as to why you can’t or shouldn’t tell your family in your head and it sounds very reasonable in your head, but you know that it has to be done.

Breaking your silence to someone you trust is just opening the old infected wound and letting the poison out, but as adults we all know that our wound is not going to truly heal if we don’t let the doctor cut it open and clean it out completely.  We are adults that were traumatized as children.  We know better now.  We are not little boys and girls and we have to set the example for others and show ourselves that we deserve being healthy and getting healing.  We have to refuse to allow our molesters have power over us another day!  You have to stop looking over your shoulder and walking on egg shells.  This is what happened and it was not your fault and it is time to experience your life as it should be!

This One Step - Older Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse

    in Psychology

    Monday -              Release YOUR Pain

                            Let Go of YOUR Suffering

                            Break YOUR Silence

Monday’s show is dedicated to survivors who need to take that one step and reveal the truth.  Please don’t think of this special step as being exposed to the world and fearing the worst from people if you tell us what happened to you as a child, but instead know that you have been traumatized enough.  You never did anything wrong.   You deserve and should demand that this load of crap that has been dumped on you be cleaned off of you and out of you!! This trauma is no longer yours!!  Take your poisonous secret, put it in a bag and throw it in the trash.  It is out, gone and never to return because you can’t be a victim ever again!!!  He no longer has that power over you!!

It is very true that the damage that he or she has caused is very real and you probably feel tore up from the floor up, but that is just it!  You are now able to heal.  You have stopped the damage and the profuse bleeding and the painful recovery begins.  The healing path is stretched as far as your eyes can see and in fact, the ending is never seen by our eyes, but the path is a different path.  It is a life being surrounded by people who support us and we seek healthy people and make healthier choices.

Welcome!  And it all begins with This One Step.

    The Indigo Journals

    in Spirituality

Yol Swan is a spiritual counselor and coach with degrees in English literature, music and homeopathy who has taken the understanding of the soul and the wounded Feminine to new cosmic depths in her new book, The Indigo Journals: Spiritual Healing For Indigo Adults & Other Feminine Souls.

Born in Mexico to intellectual parents and surrounded by a blend of Shamanic cultures, she is a modern seer who perceives life as energy and is highly sensitive to other dimensions. She began channeling spiritual messages in her teens and later spent many years in psychoanalysis, which launched her into a deep exploration of Divine Consciousness during a 3-year retreat in almost complete isolation.

First initiated as a Buddhist nun by a liberated master from Thailand and then into a path of meditation and mantra by enlightened Hindu teachers, her life is filled with mystical experiences, unusual encounters, and profound insights into the power and workings of the mind.

A painful divorce brought up memories of Atlantis and revelations of the distorted Feminine, as well as the recognition of being an Indigo adult. This led her to a deeper exploration of the soul and a soul typology based on the cosmic interplay of the Feminine and Masculine, raising a new paradigm to explain essential differences between humans and the polarized world resulting from them.

With a practical system of spiritual healing and energy management developed over more than 30 years, she helps clients around the world to create an empowering life or businessthey love, in alignment with their soul. She currently lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina. To learn more about her visit: SoulGuidedCoach.com or YolSwan.com.

Gang Families: How Can A Child Break Away?

    in Women

Adults often complain about youth gang violence as if young people are orchestrating the drug trafficking and gun toting that has disrupted peaceful community life. The fact is, gangs are run by grown people, and the organized crime network that recruits and trains children is made up of generations of families that prepare their children from childhood to run the "family business." How does a young person "leave" a gang when the gang is his or her family? How does a young person stand up to bullying by gangs, when the adults in the community won't stand up to the adult gang leaders living in their midst?  Why are we pretending this is a phenomenon of a few "misbehaving children" instead of recognizing it for the crime syndicate that it is? How do we, the adults, root out the drug trafficking that fuels the gang wars, when we, the adults, are the customers for the drug sellers? Photojournalist Marcus Robinson discusses the recent shooting death of youth activist Matthew Williams and the  gang activities that fuel the violence.
