Be sure to tune in for this special Valentine's week show, as we discuss Adrienne Thompson's book, Your Love Is King".
Adrienne Thompson has worn many titles in her lifetime–from teenage mother to teenage wife to divorcee to registered nurse to author. This mother of two young adults and one teenager currently resides in Arkansas with her daughter where she writes and publishes her stories full time.
You can connect with her on:
Host Cyrus Webb welcomes author Adrienne Thompson to Conversations LIVE to discuss her literary journey and the book BLUES IN THE KEY OF B.
Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised two children as a divorced mother, with a third fast-approaching adulthood, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.

Everyone has enemies. Whether at work, school, church, family, etc. there's an enemy lurking somewhere. In fact, the person who says they don't have any enemies need only to wait until they come along. Of course, enemies are not necessarily people who want to kill you. They're the ones who don't like you for one reason or another. Perhaps you're better at an talent or job better than they. Maybe they are jealous of your success or happy moments in your life. We tend to call them haters. According the Urban dictionary, a hater is "A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person. Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch."
I'm sure most of us have this sort of person in our lives.
Yet, what if the enemy, the hater, is not an external person but the one staring at you in the mirror? The one with eyes like yours, hair like yours, a body like yours? It's the enemy that knows every single thought you have. They're aware of every flaw you have. What do you do about the enemy who looks like you.

Tess Thompson is a mother before all else, and a writer after that. She’s also a Zumba dancing queen, though the wearing of the crown is reserved for invitation-only appearances. After honing her craft in theater with a prize-winning play titled My Lady’s Hand, her heart was called to a different storytelling medium: the great American novel. But, as she recently said to a friend, “Well, maybe not ‘great’ but certainly American.”
The first of these, Riversong (Booktrope Editions), went on to become #1 on Barnes and Noble’s Nook Book chart in October 2011. Two years after its release, readership of Riversongcontinues to grow, spending weeks in the top 100 Kindle bestsellers; it’s known amongst her friends and family as “the little book that could.”
Caramel and Magnolias, the first in the Legley Bay Collection was released in the fall of 2012. In May of 2013 Tess released the sequel to Riversong called Riverbend and the third in the collection, Riverstar, in August 2013. Tea and Primroses, the second in the Legley Bay Collection was released February 16, 2014. The first in the Blue Mountain Collection, Blue Midnight was released June 30, 2014.
She’s currently working on her first historical fiction, Duet For Three Hands, which will be released December 2014.
