"The Heart Of A Lion: w/Adoptee Celeste Seda"

    in Self Help

A multitude of issues may arise once an individual becomes aware that they've been adopted.  Feelings of grief, struggles with self-esteem and identity development issues are the more common.  Statistics state that nearly 3 out of every 4 adopted children ages 0-5 are read to or sang to every day.  It also states that well over half of all adopted children eat dinner with their families at least six days per week. The misconception: “Will the adopted child be loved as much as a biological child?” has been proven to be false.  Celeste Seda, a native New Yorker, shares her story in a loving adoptive family.  During this interview she reveals her life, expounds on her dreams and says her adoptive family has always made her feel that she is loved and has been supportive of her dreams to pursue a career in acting and modeling.  www.celesteseda.com

    Military Working Dog Adoptions

    in Health

Debbie Kandoll is the founder of Military Working Dog Adoptions that is a private non-profit organization. Although there is NO CHARGE for the actual adoption of a Retiring MWD, issues arise such as a retired Military Working Dog (MWD) needing domestic/international transport or an adopter needing help with a MWD's medical situation or even the purchase of medicines in certain circumstances. Ron Aiello is the president of the US War Dogs Association.
MWD Adoptions also GLADLY REHOMES any MWD needing a new Forever Home, and many times we find ourselves driving cross-country to retrieve or rehome one of our Retired Heroes. Your donations will fund our efforts to help Retiring Military Working Dogs to find Forever Homes! On behalf of our MWD Heroes.
”I just wanted you to hear this from someone who's right in the thick of everything with these MWDs about just how much these dogs are loved while they're working. They really do get royal treatment that most people don't have the opportunity to see. The handlers love them and so do the vet staff. Yes, they are kept in kennels. No, they don't get to go home with someone every night...but while they are a military asset, they really aren't treated like property. I've seen big strong military policemen reduced to tears when their dog was too hurt to be able to go on. I've seen an entire room full of policeman and veterinary staff tearing up like children because of it. These dogs are the center of attention while they are MWD's, and they are the number one reason that veterinarians exist in the military. It's the part of my job that I take the most pride in.” Animal Care SGT, U.S. Army

C & H Rescue - Cristina rescues animals is this an opportunity for your business

    in Motivation

C&H Animal Rescue is a Non Profit foster and volunteer based rescue started in early 2012. It was started by a group of dedicated individuals and animal professionals who noticed the increase in deaths by euthanasia across the US.

We are primarily located in Long Island and recently expanded upstate to the Hudson Valley. We also do adoptions throughout the tri-state area.

It is our primary concern to understand the correct placement and behavior of BOTH the adopter and the adopted animal to ensure a proper fit.
