    Adoptee Chat

    in Family

Please join host Pam Kroskie and Lisa Floyd as they discuss being adopted.

Lisa Floyd grew up in a closed adoption wondering who she was and where she came from. It took many years for her adoption fog to emerge after which she decided to search for and eventually reunite with both sides of her birth families.

It is only in finding her birth families and what occurred in the beginning days of her life that she has found her identity and her voice. She is passionate about adoptee rights and plans on becoming an attachment and trauma therapist to help her fellow adoptees find their authentic selves and meaningful, purpose-filled lives.

She is also a contributing writer in the adoption anthologies Adoption Therapy: Perspectives from Clients and Clinicians on Processing and Healing Post-Adoption Issues and The Adoptee Survival Guide: Adoptees Share Their Wisdom and Tools.

"The Heart Of A Lion: w/Adoptee Celeste Seda"

    in Self Help

A multitude of issues may arise once an individual becomes aware that they've been adopted.  Feelings of grief, struggles with self-esteem and identity development issues are the more common.  Statistics state that nearly 3 out of every 4 adopted children ages 0-5 are read to or sang to every day.  It also states that well over half of all adopted children eat dinner with their families at least six days per week. The misconception: “Will the adopted child be loved as much as a biological child?” has been proven to be false.  Celeste Seda, a native New Yorker, shares her story in a loving adoptive family.  During this interview she reveals her life, expounds on her dreams and says her adoptive family has always made her feel that she is loved and has been supportive of her dreams to pursue a career in acting and modeling.  www.celesteseda.com
