More and more researchers are looking at ADHD as an executive function issue. We've done several interviews around neurotransmitters and dopamine. In this episode of Attention Talk Radio, we interview Dr. Russell Ramsay on the role dopamine plays in motivation and then deepen our discussion of it in the context of executive functions. From there, we'll talk about cognition and CBT as a useful ADHD treatment. If you're interested in learning more about motivation, ADHD, or treatments, this is a show you won't want to miss.

Men and women seem to have an unspoken war between them. Boys learn to view girls with a predatory attitude and girls learn to distrust the intentions of boys. Music lyrics reinforce disrespect of women. One mother wrote a letter widely circulated on the website Mamapedia Voices entitled "To the Mother of Daughters From the Mother of Sons." She pledges to teach her sons respect for women. Such a promise, if made by all mothers, can transform our society. How much of our nation's problems are the fault of adults who don't take responsibility for the negative influences in their child's lives? How should adults change the way they raise their sons and daughters in order to create a better society?
Hello World my name is Miyah Sundermeyer and I would like to welcome you to my latest blog series. For most people who live on the Autism spectrum making friends is a really big challenge. Most people in our society appear to be friendly with us but often refuse to join in on our social activities. Like adults, children and adolescents on the spectrum, a neurotypical will often use hints and inferences when they are not interested.

"A Pennsylvania judge has been convicted of selling children into prison for cash. The former judge, 61-year old Mark Ciavarella Jr, was sentenced to 30 years for taking money under the table from a developer and jailing thousands of adults and juveniles, some as young as ten. Ciavarella made more than a million dollars selling people into incarceration."

Margrette offers an outlet for those that need and want to talk about ANYTHING...well, almost anything. There is so much going on in the world of entertainment, your life, my life, EVERYONE'S life...so why not talk about it?! This is an opportunity for everyone to voice their opinion on the good, the bad and the ugly. Maybe you have an issue or maybe you have a topic that others are ashamed to bring up. Do it here! It's always nice to have healthy debates because believe it or not, you can learn from them as long as you're willing to listen.
I don't have professionals on hand (yet) that can provide advice, but I will provide you with my own experiences as well as my opinion which seems to be worh millions to some and nothing to others. You be the judge. :)
We're all adults, but I just ask that you try to keep the conversation clean. Thank you for being my special guest and I look forward to chatting!

Health in your Hands: Essential oils that can help Sleep Disorders
All stress-related conditions, including insomnia, respond well to aromatherapy.
How to use essential oils
For skin application the essential oil must be diluted in a vegetable carrier oil such as cold-pressed sunflower oil or sweet almond oil. Use 7 -10 drops of essential oil to 25ml (five teaspoons) of carrier oil for adults, 3-5 drops for children under seven and 1-3 drops for children under the age of three. Do not use essential oils on newborn babies.
Any oil can be used in the bath. Add 5-10 drops for adults, 3-5 drops for children over two, and only one drop of a very gentle oil such as chamomile or lavender for younger children.
Inhalation is also effective. Put one or two drops of a relaxing oil onto a handkerchief and tuck it inside your pillow to help you sleep.
A combination of essential oils may be used.
Essential Oils for Sleep
A relaxing bath with essential oils of Roman camomile and geranium will help a person to unwind before sleep. A glass of camomile tea will complete the process.
A relaxant effect may be provided by oils of camomile, lavender, neroli, rose, and marjoram. Add a few drops to your bathwater or sprinkle a few drops on a handkerchief and inhale.
The following essential oils may be useful for management of sleep.
