The Urantia Religion: The Power of Symbolism with Robert Sarmast

    in Spirituality

We are delighted to have author, researcher and explorer Robert Sarmast as our guest this week. He has studied The Urantia Book for 22 years and done numerous investigative articles on its teachings. In 2003 he published the book Discovery of Atlantis: The startling case for the Island of Cyprus. The book received international coverage and led to two highly publicized, scientific expeditions in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea to find the remains of Atlantis (The Garden of Eden) as described in The Urantia Book. His specialty is comparative mythology and world religions. One of his most tenacious studies concerns the inevitability that The Urantia Book will create a new religion. If you're skeptical of a religion based on The Urantia Book, Robert's conclusions, based on the book's teachings, will likely amaze you.

He has a video online with an overview of his proposal available: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=outQ8QMisxQ

Robert lives in Southern California with his wife and two children.

Here are a few intriguing UB quotes in support of his thesis:

2:7.10 The religious challenge of this age is to those farseeing and forward-looking men and women of spiritual insight who will DARE TO CONSTRUCT a new and appealing philosophy of living out of the enlarged and exquisitely integrated modern concepts of cosmic truth, universe beauty, and divine goodness.

87:7.6 Regardless of the drawbacks and handicaps, every new revelation of truth has given rise to a new cult, and even the restatement of the religion of Jesus MUST develop a new and appropriate symbolism.

87:7.6 Regardless of the drawbacks and handicaps, every new revelation of truth has given rise to a new cult, and even the restatement of the religion of Jesus MUST develop a new and appropriate symbolism.
