Psychologist Dr. Carol Francis Addressing Empty-Nest Syndrome

    in Self Help

Empty Nest Syndrome on Dr. Carol Francis Talk Radio, August 30. Mothers and fathers who dedicated the last 18 plus years of moneys, marital bliss, prodding, laughing and sweating through parenting confusions launch their college students out of the house. Relief and parenting pride intermix with loss, depression and sense of “now what.” Dr. Carol Francis as a Clinical Psychologist has helped teens and parents successfully move to this day. Empty-Nesting is for real and Dr. Carol Francis for over 37 years has helped parents regroup after their household becomes quiet and their time is once again their own. Program is available on podcast and archived at this link as well on Dr. Carol Francis Talk Radio.

The primary caretaker, still typically mothers, are the ones most suffering from this sense of loss. Empty Nesters feel depressed, frequently crying. Beyond the loss and this type of bereavement, Empty Nesters experience a type of existential crisis. This “now what” reflects a type of meaninglessness. “Effectively, raising children is all-consuming. Every minute become consumed raising the child by either doing, planning, thinking, worrying, helping, struggling, and losing sleep. Now, suddenly, those children are not dependent and not needing the daily demands, at least in the western world,” explains Dr. Carol Francis.

“Unless the Empty Nester create sdynamically enjoyable and meaningful activities which replace the importance and time-consuming nature of parent, the Empty Nester is doomed to confusion, feeling impotent, unimportant, devalued; bottom line the parent feels completely empty,” describes Psychologist Dr. Carol Francis in Los Angeles South Bay area at 310-543-1824.

Making Magic in 2015 ~ Francis Rico

    in Motivation

Why is it that New Year's resolutions very rarely last more than a month? Here's how it works:  We state our intentions - and we write them down, with  the serious intention of improving our lives in the new year.  And what happens? Not much, right?

This Tuesday,  we will look behind the curtain with shaman Francis Rico - and will learn how to bring resources and opportunities present into your life, using  magic and intention in a new way that is so effective it can only be called  "practical dreaming."

Reaching out from the world of limitations into the realm of infinite possibilities is what shamanism is all about, and we invite you to share your resolutions, intentions, issues  and problems - bringing your concerns into the realm of magical outcomes - the realm  we call the Sacred

Musician, shaman, and author Francis Rico combines ancient and modern shamanic wisdom with an irrepressible advocacy for having fun and enjoying life. Rico’s new book, A Shaman’s Guide To Deep Beauty, shares stories and lessons from his grandfather, Pedro Fernandez, who was a shaman and curendera, as well as from over 30 years of dedication to the shamanic pathways of indigenous wisdom traditions.

  • Talk with Tenney: Everyone is Excused: Adam Lanza Scarier in Death Than Life

    in Current Events

This show airing 10 PM will review the report of the Office of the Child Advocate (OCA) (2014) concerning the Shooting at Sandy Hook Middle School which was published by State of Connecticut.

This analysis is based largely off of the newly released report on the Sandy Hook School Shootings that was prepared by the State of Connecticut, Office of The Child Advocate (2014).  While the report addressed guns, race, privilege, psychiatry, and a host of other intervening variables, and no conclusion of why Adam Lanza did what he did, the authors of the OCA report, referring to Adam Lanza and all he came in contact with, concluded,  “In the end, only he, and he alone, bears responsibility for this monstrous act” (p. 108).

People with psychiatric histories have been implicated for the acts of one person and these implications have ranged from being further discriminated against to loss of constitutional rights.

Tonight, I will review the report, offer analysis, and open the lines for your thoughts!
