Housing inventory just broke 600 active units for sale in the SCV

    in Business

Real estate buyers in the Santa Clarita Valley markets have been dismayed as of late because of the less than adequate inventory. It's causing them to slow down their approach and viewing of real estate, simply because there are not very many homes for sale. A few months ago I opined that there would be more units coming on the market for sale in the Santa Clarita Valley cities. And that is starting to come true.  Looking back only a couple weeks ago we had 545 to 565 units for sale here in the Santa Clarita Valley City. I am only speaking about active homes. Not those homes and back up position, and not those homes in pending position, which are both categories of escrow. I'm speaking of the homes that are actually 100% active with in the Santa Clarita multiple listIng service. Santa Clarita Valley has a total of 612 active units for sale. 364 homes are in backup position which is Escrow. 278 homes are  Santa Clarita Valley has a total of 612 active units for sale. 364 homes are in backup position which is Escrow. 278 homes  are intending position which is also escrow. We have 143 new units for sale that it has the Santa Clarita Valley market in the past seven days. I am currently monitoring 69 residential listings that have had their prices changed during the past seven days. 36 properties have fallen out of escrow and are now back on the market for sale in Santa Clarita.  89 real estate listings are currently or have entered the back up position in escrow during the past seven days. We see that five real estate listings have expired within the past seven days in Santa Clarita and also that we have 66 real estate listings that entered the pending status within the SCV cities during the past seven days.  I am Connor MacIvor with Remax of Santa Clarita and ReMax of Valencia it is my honor to serve you and I do appreciate you taking the time to listen to today's real estate podcast

    Episode 33 - #OpUnmanned or Playing a Deadly Game of #Drones

    in War

Tonight we tackle the multifaceted issue of unmanned aerial vehicles, or Drones. They have gained a place in history as one of the most hated, loved, and misunderstood pieces of equiptment our society has ever created. It is important to distinguish what a person is referring to when they talk about drones. This is due to the fact that the term is a blanket reference to pretty much anything that has locomotion, and is either remotely controlled, or runs a predetermined program for it's operation. This means that everything from a small hobbyists $20 RC helicopter to General Atomics multi billion dollar fleet of Predator drones all fall under this banner.

Though we will touch on the topic of smaller 'flying camera' drones, but our main topic tonight will be the larger, CIA and military driven UAVs and their role in the so-called 'War on Terror'.

We have Brandon Bryant as our guest tonight. He knows all too well how these are used and how the operations are carried out. He should, he used to be a drone pilot. He will talk about his experiences with turning targets into 'bug splat', and the consequences, not just to those on the ground, but the scars he now bears daily with the resulting PTSD. Many studies have revealed that the PTSD most drone operators suffer from might be worse than those in hand to hand combat. It is an honor and with much gratitude that we welcome him to the show tonight.

While Brandon is not a leaker of top secret documents, he is definitely a whistleblower in the truest sense of the word. He is calling attention to the hipocrisy and deceit being propagated by the US and it's President, wherein they contend that drone strikes are a precision surgical instrument, equal to excising a cancer while leaving the remaining tissue intact. This is a lie. All males over 13 years of age are not 'militants'. Weddings are not target practice.

Ted Chabasinski - The Barbarity of Electric Shock Treatments on Children

    in Politics Progressive

Ted Chabasinski  is an attorney and human rights activist in Berkeley, California.  In 1944, as a 6-year-old boy so intellectually gifted he jumped from first grade to third he was taken from his home in the Bronx to New York’s Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced “schizophrenic”, because his mother had been labelled “schizophrenic”. There he began a series of 20 electro-convulsive shock treatments. The boy, Ted Chabasinski, was one of hundreds of children used in ECT experiments. Tests since condemned as barbaric. He remained an inmate in a state psychiatric hospital until the age of seventeen. Chabasinski survived and became active in the civil rights movement and ultimately an attorney.

Ted has organized an International Day of Protest  Against Shock Treatment, being held on May 16, 2015. There will be demonstrations in many countries and cities around the world.

Reclaiming Humanity's Heart of Love w/ Tom Choquette, Charles Olivea, & Friends

    in Spirituality

This week on The Cosmic Citizen, we're delighted to have Tom Choquette, Charles Olivea and, perhaps, some mutual friends calling in.  Our topic:  How do we reclaim the heart of love of humanity in a world seemingly so callous to love?

As in all enduring transitions, if we are to reclaim the heart of humanity we must include and encourage active participation of our youth.  We must also understand that the heart of humanity itself includes the love of God.  Without the God of love, we have no chance of success.  How do we embrace more of God's love in our everyday lives?  Do we believe that God is love?  And if so, what is love?  Where do we find the resources to transition into a deeper understanding  and then a deeper experience of God's love?

Our greatest need is to love and be loved.  Where does that need come from?  Can it come from the actual presence of God in our hearts, beckoning us to dance in a world so in need of the love of God?  When we truly love, are we already consciously, actively sharing our life with God?

Let's explore these possibilities.  Come join us on a journey into our inner lives, a journey saturated with the conscious presence of the God of love.  A journey that reveals the privilege of service, forgiveness and love itself.

Call in and join the conversation with our guests and share insights on love and its power to transform the chaos in human relationships to civilized and even, genuinely heartfelt relationships among our fellow brothers and sisters in this world of many contrasts.

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."  Jimi Hendrix

"Love is the desire to do good to others."  The Urantia Book (648.4) 56:10.21

    "THE SABBATH OF CREATION"

    in Christianity

    It is the love of self that brings unrest. When we are born from above, the same mind will be in us that was in Jesus, the mind that led Him to humble Himself that we might be saved. Then we shall not be seeking the highest place. We shall desire to sit at the feet of Jesus, and learn of Him. We shall understand that the value of our work does not consist in making a show and noise in the world, and in being active and zealous in our own strength. The value of our work is in proportion to the impartation of the Holy Spirit. Trust in God brings holier qualities of mind, so that in patience we may possess our souls. – {DA 330.4}
