Ministry, True Worship, & Serving Our Fellows with Dave Tucker

    in Spirituality

On this episode of The Cosmic Citizen, cohost, André Radatus and Dave Tucker explore the nature of ministry as revealed in The Urantia Book.  Our host, Paula Thompson, and cohost, Christilyn Biek Larson, are both off this week and next.

Dave Tucker is a regular contributor at 1GOD.com, YouTube, and serves as founder of Good Cheer Services, and as a member of The Urantia fellowship's Outreach committee. He aims to spread Good Cheer as far and as wide as possible with any who are in need of it.

His ministry on YouTube, has new episodes every Thursday www.youtube.com/user/goodcheerdave

Dave declares his mission is the living pursuit of slow, forward, progress; physically, mentally, and spiritually. But he never ceases to be fun and uplifting too!  We hope you can join us in a great conversation with Dave Tucker.

It's déjà vu all over again for Dave as a "new" father--third time with a seven-week-old!

Please call in to discuss how worship has enhanced your ministry and service of your fellows and how serving others has contributed to your worship!

It will be wonderful to share thoughts, experiences, and, perhaps, some insights will ensue!

  • Healing Conversations with Mildred Lynn: Active voices for a more soulful life

    in Self Help

A little while ago, I came across  an article in Yes! Magazine that stopped me in my tracks. It was called One Poem that Saved A Forest: How the friendship between a poet and a timber baron kept a grove of California redwoods from clear-cutting by Jacqueline Suskin.

Upon talking with Jacqueline, I discovered that she also made a living as a poet at The Poem Store by composing one-of-a-kind poems on a manual typewriter, in exchange for a donation (your subject, your price). Plus, she has written two books; Go Ahead & Like It and The Collected … and her work concept has been profiled in the New York Times and the LA Times.

Join us as we talk about her poetry, The Poem Store project, her compassion and humanity, and how to come together to successfully tackle projects (like saving a forest grove) for the greater good of all. As a special treat, I'll pick a subject and Jacqueline will write a poem for us … right on the spot. You’ll love it!

WEEKLY ROUND TABLE with HiC Luttmers, John Carosella, and Mildred Lynn: You Should Not Honour Men More Than Truth - Plato. It's sure to be a fun, engaging discussion.

Healing Conversations with Mildred Lynn McDonald is a fascinating tour of the mind-body-spirit connection. Enjoy nourishing conversations, thought-provoking guests, personal growth tools, compassionate guidance, practical tips ... plus a generous sprinkling of East-coast humour and warmth! You’ll also love our popular Round Table discussions. Airs the FIRST SUNDAY of the month @ 10:30am PST.  Website

Citizen-Police Relations and The Redefining of Power

    in Culture

“Police don’t empower the community. The community empowers the police to give full time attention to that which is everyone’s responsibility” is a quote offered for discussion at a recent New Horizons’ Coffee House Volunteer Planning Meeting, by one of the volunteers, a retired police officer.

The notion of it was so out of range for most in attendance as to create a bit of a stir in the ensuing discussion. That meeting discussion and its highlights is brought forth into this evening’s broadcast and will be carried over into our Coffee House Conversations by Conference Call Forum, promising to inspire energetic dialogue on both broadcast and the following forum.

Anastasia and Jack are joined for this evening’s program by guest, Jason Keckler, Acting Captain Frederick City Police.

Yardie Skeptics (S.03, ep.17): Prospects for an integrated Caribbean

    in Education

Come hang with the Yardie Skeptics this Sunday, October 4th at 12:30pm EDT (11:30am Jamaica time) while we sit down to explore the prospects and possibilities for an integrated Caribbean . Has that ship already sailed? Is there still room for an integrated Caribbean and what do member states stand to gain from being a part of such a union? With CARICOM receiving so much skepticism from the average Caribbean citizen, and heads of state hesitant to throw their full support behind it, is Caribbean political integration destined to remain a fantasy?

Joining us live on air will be Dr. Edward Green, Professor Emeritus of the University of the West Indies and UN Special Envoy for HIV in the Caribbean; Sen. Lisa Shoman, Leader of Opposition Business in Belize; Hon. Damian Gomez, Minister of State for Legal Affairs in the Bahamas, and Ed Bartlett, shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jamaica. Feel free to check us out this Sunday and be a part of this important discussion!

A Kind Voice On Music featuring Molly Herron

    in Indie Music

We are pleased to welcome Molly Herron to the show. Molly Herron is a composer whose music is inspired by the complicated, messy sounds of our every day environment and the energy of interaction. Her rhythmically driven work has been called “a beautiful collusion” (Seen and Heard International) and described as “showcasing a wonderful consideration of counterpoint and sound-in-time” (I Care If You Listen). Herron’s music often veers outside of traditional western classical instruments. She works frequently with Baroque instruments and everyday objects and collaborates with instrument inventors to find new avenues for sound. Based in Brooklyn, NY, Herron is an active participant in the promotion of new music through performance, education, and arts advocacy across the country. She is a co-founder and artistic director of the composer collective West Fourth New Music, which has been producing concerts since 2010. The group has been praised for their “exquisitely curated” concerts. These accomplishments make Molly the perfect person to discuss our ongoing narrative of creating music from the raw materials around us.
