Conventional wisdom tells us that before we do something, we first need to feel like doing it or feel like the kind of person who would do that sort of thing. And in order to feel like doing something, the thinking goes, you need to get in the right mindset, “find yourself,” or discover your “deep inner truth.”
So young men following conventional wisdom drift through life waiting until they feel like a man before they take their place in the circle of men. They believe that at some magical moment in the future, they’ll feel like a grown man, and once that happens they’ll finally have the motivation to start doing manly things. Or they read books, meditate about masculinity, and attend weekend men’s retreats, hoping that they’ll start to feel like a man through pondering manhood. But they don’t seem to make much progress. Sure, they have their moments of inspiration, but when the retreat is over or the book is finished, they’re back to feeling insecure about their status as men.
But the problem with conventional wisdom on how a person “becomes” is that it doesn’t work. At least not very well. Nine times out of ten you won’t magically start feeling like a man by simply thinking about becoming a man. So how can you start feeling like the man you’ve always wanted to be? By following the advice given by both ancient philosophers and modern psychologists: to feel like a man, you have to act like a man.

We each have a natural born wisdom residing within the cells of our body just like all living creatures do. God does exist and that energetic force has not been hiding! Yesterday I came across a quote by the pope of the Catholic Church it goes like this, "When these small groups are created within the community of God's people, these people believe they are being good Christians and also are acting in good faith maybe, but they are small groups who have privatized salvation." Today I would like to discuss this quote and what it means for evangelicals and salvation, link to blog http://mike-finnerty.blogspot.ca
It is some thing we hear about often. And it is usually considered to be a beneficial concept. Many, if not most, of us value and possibly use it as a criteria for picking their respective mates. But is this an overblown philosophy or way of thinking? Is the merit to this notion of children raised with both of their parents, and or even in healthy two parent homes, are make for more healthy mates in adult relationships?
Do people raised in single parent homes have unrealistic expectations of how their mate(s) and relationships are suppose to be? Do they have a lack of patience when their respective expectations are not lived up to? Are you able to tell if a person (specifically a woman) was raised without their father immediately? Does the lack of seeing both parents living together create serious incompatibility issues in those of us who did not have the luxury?

Tonight's journey is Genesis 14:19-15:1. Do you love God's Word? I DO! I am a third year theological seminary student with a serious love for God's Word! God and His Word are one and I love God! It has been on my heart to do another show starting in Genesis 1:1 and daily journeying through the Bible to the last chapter of the Book of Revelation. I love to share God's Word and really delve into every aspect surrounding each passage. I am a non-denomination born again Believer, a Christian who is following Jesus daily, each and every day, to hopefully honor and glorify Him, exalt Him, and remain a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior. I am currently working toward a Bachelor of Ministry Degree, and then hope to obtain a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling, and following that I hope to obtain a Doctorate of Theological Studies. I have achieved an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies graduating with Honors, and I have a diploma in Biblical Counseling. I hope to share with you the joy and importance of understanding the Bible as I have been taught by many great teachers. I hope you will join me. Please feel free to correct me if at any point I get off track, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I am a student of God's Word, as we all are; those of us who study God's Word. Do we ever get to the point where we stop learning the truth of God's Word? I don't think so. From the most knowledgeable scholar and Theologian, to the most humble and lowly student like myself, we will never fully be able to learn everything there is to know about God or His Word. This is the very reason I am so eager to share God's Word. I hope you will join me! God Bless us all!
My friends If you've been dealing with challenging issues in your marriage for a while, it may seem like your relationship will never change. But don't let your frustration get the best of you. While you and your spouse's own efforts to change may fail, God will change your marriage if you pray. Prayer has the power to accomplish what nothing else can.
This week we will discuss the upcoming Super Bowl. The New England Patriots lead by Tom Brady vs The Seattle Seahawks lead by Russell Wilson. Sports Talk! Who do you think will win?
