The Book of Revelations pt. 5

    in Religion

Greetings Friends, Saints, and Family. Today the study of the seven churches in the book of revelations will continue with the church of Pergamos. Here God is telling the angel of the church in pergamos to write and reveal that their works are known; and he commends them for holding fast to the name of God, and for not denying the faith (even in those days where Antipas was a faithful martyr who was slain where Satan dwells). These were mid-evil days during the Roman empior.

Today, all that's left of the city of Pergamum, now in modern-day Turkey, are ruins. But when the Apostle John wrote his letter to the church there, it was one of the most influential cities in the Roman Empire.

“Pergamum had a unique status that was different than any other city because it was the political center, says Rick Renner, the author of A Light in the Darkness, a study of the seven churches of Asia Minor. “It was from there that all the rulings were made that affected the whole of Asia Minor.”

The people of Pergamum were inventors and innovators. They perfected a parchment made out of calfskin and built the world's first psychiatric hospital. Pergamum was also a well-known center for the arts. The city’s theater seated ten thousand people a night. The acoustics were so good that a whisper on stage could be heard all the way in the top row.

    in Spirituality

Please join me along with my guest Christian Kyriacou, The House Whisperer as we discuss the psychotherapy of home. We will explore such ideas as Does your house make you sick? Can our homes hold the key to good health and wellbeing? How does your home influence your life and particularly your health, and can it help to heal you? Why we choose the homes we do?

Christian is an Architect, House Whisperer, Philosopher, Author, Environmental Psychologist, Musician, Composer, Filmmaker, Feng Shui, Vaastu and Geomancy Consultant.

Christian has appeared on international television and radio since 1993 as an inspirational speaker.  His work with the spatial energy of buildings engages particularly with how aspects of acoustics, vibration, music and harmonics relate to sacred geometry in architectural spaces including our homes, which in turn affect human consciousness. He is especially interested in the Vedic scriptures, the Sanskrit language and various meditation practices. His study of ancient cultures and world religions include spending time in Greece, much of Europe, Egypt, India, Tibet and China, the United States, Canada and other countries. He is passionate about fusing classical principles of architecture with contemporary materials and ideologies, incorporating sacred geometry and proportion, musical ratios and harmonic resonance, in keeping with the spirit of the land.

He offers workshops on a wide range of subjects, and advises clients and other professionals on architectural projects from the perspective of The House Whisperer. His guidance is provided in a no-nonsense accessible language whereby the individual can take responsibility for resolving issues that led them to him in the first place!

The Secret Keeper Revealed with Author, Angela Carling

    in Books

Angela Carling was raised in Palm Springs California, but lives Arizona with her husband, three kids and five felines. After years of denial she finally admitted that she is a hopeless romantic which led her to write her first Young Adult book, “Unbreakable Love”. Since then she’s published three more books, “Shackled”, “Becoming Bryn” and “The Secret Keeper”. “Shackled” won the silver IPGA award in 2012 and has been optioned as a screenplay.

Angela always eats the frosting off her cake and leaves the rest, and can be caught singing in public bathrooms just for the acoustics. When she’s not writing YA novels, she’s mentoring teen writers, making pizza with her family or dreaming of taking a nap, not necessarily in that order.

We will be talking to Angela about all of her books, but especially her newly released story, The Secret Keeper. You can find all her books on Amazon and more about her at: http://www.amazon.com/AngelaCarling/e/B006P15NOG/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1

Crooked Weather (earthy acoustics) talks to Diane Green

    in Music

This is Crooked Weather   Crooked Weather are an acoustic three piece band based in Hull, UK. Their sound is distinct, earthy and just a little bit unruly. Will sings and plays guitar, Danny throws down on the bass and Martyn beefs it out, reigning over the cajon and bells.   Crooked Weather, in equal parts chops, unruliness and earthy rhythm. Above all, it finds these men poised intriguingly between youth and experience; on the cusp of something.   We play songs from their album Quantum Mango   http://www.crookedweather.com/   https://www.facebook.com/crookedweather   Photos by ViceversaRobbi Fotographia
