Beginning a new year with the Course’s Workbook is a wonderful way to engage in mind training and right-minded perception. Our mind and inner state of being will benefit greatly from comitting ourselves to such a project. It is with the guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout the 365 lessons that we can begin to see through His Vision and in doing so, we begin to perceive the world and each of our sisters and brothers with kindness and compassion. The Introduction to the Workbook outlines the specific intention that students will undergo over the course of a year (or longer) in order to accomplish the curriculum of the Course. It is advised to do each lesson with our Higher Mind, in that we relinquish any room for doubt as we engage in the application of each lesson (see WB-Intro.9).
Sarah and Matthew once again unite to discuss their week as students of A Course In Miracles. Our meetup group is currently reading Chapter 8. We meet bi-weekly to discuss what we have read. Sarah is on Lesson 284 and felt that many others could benefit from a discussion on it, at this time. We are in mercury retrograde and in between eclipses. It is a powerful month for growth and Lesson 284 has a great theme along those lines. Plus, (I'm not going to lie, I really want to hear what Matthew has to say about it! :)
I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt.
Loss is not loss when properly perceived. Pain is impossible. There is no grief with any cause at all. And suffering of any kind is nothing but a dream. This is the truth, at first to be but said and then repeated many times; and next to be accepted as but partly true, with many reservations. Then to be considered seriously more and more, and finally accepted as the truth. I can elect to change all thoughts that hurt. And I would go beyond these words today, and past all reservations, and arrive at full acceptance of the truth in them.
Father, what You have given cannot hurt, so grief and pain must be impossible. Let me not fail to trust in You today, accepting but the joyous as Your gifts; accepting but the joyous as the truth.
Are you part of an ACIM discussion group? Ever wonder about how to keep it healthy and growing with a long term plan? What types of philanthropic endeavors can a group do to create long term positive growth?
Sarah and Matthew from ACIM.LivingWithLove, a group in Southern Ontario, will be discussing group dynamics, health, growth and getting involved in the community.
If you have a group that is growing, you will definitely benefit from joining us and having a listen. Please join us as we talk about how to create harmonious flow and hopefully you will learn something to enhance your group as well.
Such a great question to get clarity on, and the way it is described in ACIM is sure to give listeners and readers some new insight.
An unforgiving thought does many things. In frantic action it pursus its goal, twisting and overturning what it sees as interfering with its chosen path. (how many times have we felt justified in our unforgiveness only to hold onto it so tightly and painfully?
Forgiveness, on the other hand, is still, and quietly does nothing. It offends no aspect of reality, nor seeks to twist it to appearances it likes. It merely looks, and waits, and judges not. He who would not forgive must judge, for he must justify his failure to forgive. But he who would forgive himself must learn to welcome truth exactly as it is.
Anytime we have an ego reaction to something that we are observing in our outer world, it is an opportunity for healing. They are Holy Instants that allow the miracle to occur as we shift our thinking from fear to love.
Please join us as we discuss this, maybe you will gain a new perspective :-)
Why listen to us? Who are we?
We are students of A Course In Miracles who are dedicated to allowing love and healing into our lives and the lives of others. We meet weekly in Whitby Ontario which is located about a half hour east of Toronto. Our intention is to create a highly healing energy space for like minds to connect and expand.
How to find us in person?
We are on meetup - http://www.meetup.com/Living-with-Love-ACIM-Discussion-Group/
We are on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/groups/ACIM.LivingWithLove/
We love meeting others on this similar journey and I hope to connect with all who feel to :-)
Everything looked upon with vision is healed and holy. Nothing perceived without it means anything. And where there is no meaning, there is chaos.
The world you see but shows you how much joy you have allowed yourself to see in you, and to accept it as yours. And, if this is its meaning, then the power to give it joy must lie within you.
There is no need to learn through pain. And gentle lessons are acquired joyously, and are remembered gladly.
These are just a few sentences from the first 2 pages of Chapter 21 of ACIM. We will discuss these ideas and more, so please do have a listen as Sarah, Matthew and Peter converse.
Join me Sunday evenings to talk about ideas from 'A Course In Miracles.' ACIM is a profound teaching that helps you understand your deepest sense of Self, why you are here and what you must learn.
Rev. Jean Weston completed studies to become an Ordained Ministerial Counselor through Pathways of Light. She spent a year studying with Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, has given numerous talks and led study groups.
As we continue along discussing these sections from the second half of the workbook for students from A Course In Miacles, our awareness grows and as we expand in that way we are able to apply the inner lessons to our outer world and the relationships we have.
What is the body?
The body is the menas by which God's Son returns to sanity.
Sounds good to me! Enjoythe show :-)
This show is dedicated to one of our group members, Denise, who was blown away by the message in Chapter 27, Part 1. Paragrahs 9, 10 and 11. She messaged me (Sarah) excitedly yesterday saying how she was listening to this in her car on her way to work and had to laugh out loud when it reminded her of how confused "us humans" are.
So, Matthew will join me again (I really and truly enjoy his insight!) and we will start the show off with this in mind. That being said, I bet the topic ends up taking on a life of its own (as usual where ACIM and the Holy Spirit are involved). But then again, those are the best type of conversations to have, so we hope you enjoy this broadcast.
Thanks for listening!
The world is false perception. It is born of error, and it has not left its source. It will remain no longer than the thought that gave it birth is cherished. When the thought of separation has ben changed to one of true forgiveness, will the world be seen in quite another light; and one which leads to truth, where all the world must disappear and all its errors vanish. Now its source has gone, and its effects are gone as well.
Let us not rest content until the world has joined our changed perception. Let us not be satisfied until forgiveness has been made complete. And let us not attempt to change our function. We must save the world. For we who made it must behold it through the eyes of Christ, that what was made to die can be restored to everlasting life.
As always, Sarah, Matthew and Peter will be discussing their views on this topic and we hope it touches your heart as you listen.
Yes! We are going there! Healing is always a great thing to discuss and this week we are going to talk about how we can really welcome Jesus and the Holy Spirit into our lives.
Listen in as Sarah, Matthew and Peter have another wonderful discussion. Please know that we will be increasing our air time to one hour in the near future in the hopes that our listeners are able to call in with any questions they have arise as they are listening. We want to hear from you!!
A couple of common things a lot of Course Students say is that they had a hard time getting comfortable with the idea that ACIM was channeled by Jesus. A lot of people also felt drawn to the Course and then once they got it home, put it on a shelf for a number of years before picking it up again. Has this happened to you?
So, listen in as we discuss ways to be open to forming a friendship with Jesus which will heighten our learning, understanding, and healing. For if Jesus is the one being that we have a hard time accepting when he is the one who has done so much for us on all levels and continues to do with the creation of this Course, then when we can fully accept and make peace with him, our hearts will heal. (Or at least that is my take on it.)
Join me Sunday evenings to talk about ideas from 'A Course In Miracles' and what they are meant to help us learn. A Course in Miracles is a very profound teaching that can help you to understand your deepest sense of Self..... why you are here and what you must learn.
Rev. Jean Weston completed studies leading to being an Ordained Ministerial Counselor through Pathways of Light and also spent a year in Temecula, CA studying with Dr. Kenneth Wapnick. She feels these deeper studies in ACIM have helped her integrate all the aspects into one glorious WHOLE - which is the purpose of the beautiful path.
