Adult Children of Alcoholics--Using Our Pain As A Way To Understand Our Healing

    in Self Help

In this episode Lisa A. Romano, Certified ACoA Life Coach, Mentor and Author helps we wounded Adult Children from dysfunctional homes understand how we can use pain to help us transcend our wounds and how by 'reframing' how we experience our pain can also speed along our total recovery.

If you have been lost, hang in there as Lisa explains the purpose of pain and how we can learn to appreciate duality in our lives.

As Lisa explains, there can be no understanding of light without some understanding of darkness. There can be no integration without understanding ideas of separation.  There can be no experience of contentment without some experience of discontentment. It is our hope that by listening to this recording as well as many of Lisa's others, that your ideas about self, your past, healing, and about recovery will help you reframe your perceptions about pain for the purpose of healing completely.

SDG 176 Are We the Children of the Light?

    in Spirituality

    1 Thessalonians 5:5

You know there’s a lot of talk in new age spiritual circles about “the light” and being “light workers” but this is actually a term and a concept stolen from the Bible.

In our focus scripture for today’s message  Paul tells us we are all children of the light and then Jesus tells us that we are the light of the world!

Now Jesus refers to believers as both salt and light and both need to be applied, but when salt’s applied, it goes inward and disappears, whereas light comes from within and always appears.

The salt speaks of our character whereas light speaks of our testimony.

And what the world needs is both penetration and illumination, both character and confession.

Look at these utterly profound words from the lips of Jesus.

    See Matthew 5:14-16 KJV
[14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
[15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
[16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

So stay tuned because in today’s message we’ll learn the who, what and “hows” of being spiritual light AKA "Children of The Light"!

  • Adult Children--How Our Pain Helps Us Transcend to Higher Vibrations

    in Relationships

As adult children of alcoholics, many of us do not even realize just how wounded we truly are.  Because we have ridiculously high threhholds for pain, we do not always consciously comprehend how dank our energy bodies are.  Many of us have been living in such deep states of survival for so long, we are unaware our emotional set point is one that has us unknowingly avoiding pain rather than seeking joy in our lives.  Because so many of us were taught that our needs were unimportant, we no longer seek guidance from within, and so we wind up settling for what shows up.

The most sad aspect of our realities is the fact that we are creators and capable of transcending ANY experience.  But for adult children of alcoholics--if we do not even know where our pain is--or where our wounds are--we often times miss the transcendental experience embracing the pain can create.  Embracing the pain is an opportunity to create new realities and to live life in new vibrations, literally embracing the opportunity to experience a New Earth in a whole new way.

Adult children of alcoholics come from long lines of dank energy beings, and because our families have been drenched in denial, it can be quite a wobbly experience as one approaches a true healing journey.  In this episode we will be discussing the Hero's Path of An Adult Child of an Alcoholic and or Narcissist, and how we can use our experiences to propel us to higher vibrations, so to experience the world in a whole New Way as higher energy beings, living our lives intentionally on a Quantum Level, for the purpose of living our Higher Self Realities through the process of transcendence.

Cultivating Compassion and Resilience in Children through Education

    in School

Gina Rolkowski is an Educational Consultant specializing in early childhood education, social and emotional learning and self regulation.  She empowers early childhood educators and parents utilizing scientifically proven brain based strategies to develop executive skills necessary for children’s long term success in academic, family, and social environments.  She studied at The University of Delaware, The University of Central Florida and earned to degree and did graduate work.  She co-authored the Florida Network for Community-Based Early Learning and Professional Development HUBS-Math and Science Workshop Manuals and is an active member of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children, Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children and Pennsylvania AssocAiation for Young Children.

In the cycles of world change, the paradigm has shifted from producing assembly-line students to fit the mold of and industrialized mold, to a feeling world in which a growing child must understand themselves to learn how to adapt in a more fluidic and interactive world of information.  A fascinating discovery on how we can educate children in the new era!

  • Adult Children of Alcoholics--Our First Wound--Incomplete Energy Bonds

    in Relationships

In this episode we will be discussing one of the most critical invisible wounds adult children of alcoholics experience.

The need to feel 'seen' on a psychological, emotional and spiritual level is crucial to a child's ability to define for themselves who they are and their unique experiences.  Without sufficient energy bonding with mother and or father, children spend their lives seeking to gain this much needed connection in others.  Sadly children from dysfunctional homes most often do not attract healthy partners, friends, coworkers and etc.  Because this is a cause and effect universe, and becasue one of the first agenda's of a soul is to feel 'seen' by mother and father, wounded adult children unconsciously on an energetic level attract similar energies to their parents, in search of sealing that bond.  Understanding how and why we adult children of alcoholics and narcissists, are unknowingly leaking energetically, as well as attracting abusers, helps us gain clarity and the tools we need to make life long changes that impact our lives in positive ways.

Our Children - Are we Influencing them Correctly

    in Lifestyle

Special Saturday Episode of LargeInCharge Radio

Our Children - Are we Influencing them Correctly?

When you’re raising kids it is not a complete science, we are all kinda bumping around trying to figure it out.

Tonight we are going to talk about some debatable thoughts on how we Influence our Kids.

From the way they we speak, the way we dress, the way we reward them with smiles and laughs.  We are teaching our children what type of behavior is acceptable or not.  What is expected of them, and what behavior is considered good or bad.  We reward them with our attention, are you paying attention to the message you send?

Bring your views, thoughts, and examples of what you feel is acceptable or not.

Jim Richardson Jr. songwriter's heart for abused children

    in Education

Join me in welcoming Jim Richardson Jr., an inspirational songwriter with a gift of reaching people's hearts with his words. Jim is a proud member of Dreamcatchers For Abused Children and has written and donated songs to us over the years. Jim's gift of songwriting was handed down from his father, now passed away. Jim's family are all musically inclined and have the gift of music running through them. Jim's songs about abused children send a message to the world that no child should ever be abused. No child should suffer at the hands of those that should be protecting them, caring for them, and Jim's words from his heart ring loud and clear about the worldwide issue of child abuse, poverty, neglect that children face. He allows us to hear the children's words, and to feel the children's pain as he "becomes" their voice thru his songwriting. Jim recently let me in on an amazing bit of news, as he advised that Recording Artist Ria will be recording his song titled "Don't Be Afraid" for Dreamcatchers for Abused Children. This is awesome news!! Please see Jim's MySpace and look for more of Jim's inspiring music in the future. With no plans on sitting back, Jim will continue to use his gifts to help children, and people through his gift of music.
