Our Inter-communal Political Prisoner radio show George Jackson University radio will air 5/6/15 at 8:00 pm est our special guest: Comrade Aaron Dixon call in:
at just 19 years-old Aaron Dixon and he was given instructions to form the Seattle Chapter. With his appointment as Captain of the Seattle Chapter, he formed the first branch of the BPP outside of California.
Dixon and his fellow Panthers were able to turn their Panther chapter into a thriving center of militant Black activism and community service in Seattle’s Central District.
Dixon and Panthers created a free medical clinic (still in operation today as the Carolyn Downs Clinic), five breakfast programs for schoolchildren, the first free food bank in Seattle, a prisoner visitation program, and free legal services for poor people. The Party also responded to calls from the community regarding police brutality and harassment.

Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! when Scott brings on two cousins whose backyard adventure hit the big screen, Aaron and Chad Burns.
Aaron Burns graduated with his Masters of Business Administration from Oakland University in May of 2011. He served as the co-producer, production designer, score supervisor, and lead actor on Burns Family Studios' Pendragon: Sword of His Father. Aaron was recently married and lives with his wife Andrea in Lake Orion, MI.
Chad Burns is the award-winning director and co-producer of Burns Family Studios' first feature film, Pendragon: Sword of His Father. Chad completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems and Human Factors at the University of Illinois in the spring of 2011. Chad recently married Angie in August 2011 and lives in Champaign, IL.
These cousins have now created the Christian Hit, Beyond the Mask, an action-packed, Gospel-centered, historic, adventure film. It is set in the turbulent months leading up to the American Declaration for Independence.
The story explores identity and redemption through the lens of one central question: "What does it take for a man to remake his name and redeem his identity?" The assassin-turned-vicar, Will Reynolds, tries two classic approaches to fixing himself. First, he hides behind a mask of assumed identity. Second, he works to do enough good to outweigh his bad past. When both approaches fail, he discovers that only in Christ's finished work can he find his own redemption.

Good Evening, people! Get your latest "ringside" sonic experience this Wednesday, courtesy of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review show airing promptly at 7:30pm EST. Join Dburt and Capt. Kirk as they discuss the following issues: as we readjust our senses from a less than stellar event filled weekend (Avengers 2, Mayweather fight), is it time that the public demand less hype and more substance from forthcoming pop culture events?; in light of Olympic legend, Bruce Jenner's transgender revelations, a recent NY Times op-ed discusses transgenders matriculating into Womens colleges; Dburt ponders why the PC police seem to be more critical of those that might be considered transracial (shout out to Sammy Sosa); a debate between Pastor Jamal Bryant and FOX' Megyn Kelly over the usage of the word "thug" during the media's reporting of the Baltimore riots affirms that liberals and conservatives both prefer to be right over righteous; are emails ruining the art of writing? (and by extension language and discourse?) ; Harvard economics professor, Dr. Roland Fryer may have cracked the code in closing the achievement gap between minorities and Whites. And lastly, Dburt waxes about Dr. Marc Lamont Hill's recent interview on The Combat Jack podcast (hint: Black Progressives are engineered not unlike like an auto on a Detroit/Japan assembly line). Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
Adrian Castellanos is a 22 year-old HIV/AIDS advocate/activist. He was born and raised in the Southern-most part of Texas, known as the Rio Grande Valley. A border area of Texas to Mexico and South Padre Island. Adrian studied art and fashion briefly in Texas before he moved on to becoming a hair stylist in his home town.
At 21, Castellanos' path was redirected when he was diagnosed with AIDS. While he spent two weeks in a hospital room, he decided to "make his mess his message". Since his diagnosis on March 26, 2014 he has gone on to receive a Youth Initiative Scholarship to attend USCA in October 2014, acquire a position with the Valley AIDS Council (the only HIV/AIDS Agency in his area) Janurary 2015, and receive a separate scholarship to attend AIDSWatch in April 2015 where he lobbied Congress regarding HIV/AIDS issues.
Adrian now spends his time doing free HIV screenings at two universities in his area and for the community with his agency. He also participates in outreach and education efforts to raise awareness within his community. Castellanos utilizes social media to deconstruct stigma and engage with as many people as possible. He is just out of his first year of diagnoses but already has a strong outlook on what he plans to do for the fight to end the epidemic.
