SORT BY Relevancy
Our relationship experiences (both good and bad) color our dispositions toward life, love, and trusting others. Unfortunately, people experience more non-successful/unfulfilling relationships than not, and this creates the scorned effect in people. This scorn can manifest as unhealthy/dysfunctional relationship characteristics in various forms, such as: baggage, prejudices, and trust and commitment hang-ups.
In-turn, people harm themselves and others after becoming scorned and are unable to function in healthy relationships. This becomes dangerous! And there are stereotypes about the dangers of both genders when scorned. Leaving us to ask: Is a Scorned Woman Really Worse than a Scorned Man?!?

Have you ever heard this phrase? What does it really mean when someone says, "Stand up and be a man... or woman?" Does it mean the same thing for both sexes? This saying is encompassed by many different things. Firstly, one needs to know what characteristics and values a man or woman should have in order to "stand up" and be one. Not to mention the fact that many lacked these positive role models growing up. Does this imply that a man is a wimp? Or that a woman should be more assertive? This phrase has both positive and negative connotations... So, let's do this RC style and break it down! We want to hear from you! Tell us your experiences when it comes to "Standing up" and being a man or woman.
Vanessa J. Ross
I was born on January 11, 1956 to Jean Tophia Jones and Paul M. Jones Sr. I was the second oldest of seven siblings. My mother and grandmother were my best motivation and inspiration ever. I graduated from Walter L. Cohen Sr. High School. I have a degree in Child Development and also in Interior Decorator/ Design. I am a Licensed Cosmetologist of many years. I graduated from John Jay Beauty School. I am very devoted to the Lord. I am a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. I love singing, learning more about the bible each and everyday. I am a very unique and caring person. I am here to do God YAHWEH's will, for I know he has plans or me. One of my favorite scriptures is Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I fear? My grandchildren are the joy of my life and believe me I wouldn't trade them for the world." Let the life I live speak for me !!!!!
My daughter was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The doctors there didn't know anything about what was going on with my child. At the age of three months old, my daughter had a stroke. We had moved to Los Angeles California. This is where it all began. I woke up one morning and my baby continued to cry and not stop. Nothing was moving on her body, so I knew in my mind something was really wrong. I brought her to Children's Hospital. I then discovered that she not only had a stroke. but the child had pneumonia. This is where my journey began. I would read the Jabez prayer every night because I knew deep down inside God, Yahweh, would see me through any situation. Psalm 23 says the Lord is my shepard I shall not want. As my baby started getting older, little did I know my journey was just beginning! One thing I knew was how to get on my knees and pray for strength.
A communication and relationship expert with over 42 years of helping men and women express their wants and needs, Dr. Pat Allen has been a vital part of Marissa Monteilh's life for 25 years. Upon hearing Dr. Allen years ago, attending her workshops, and receiving individual counseling from Dr. Allen on the downfalls of oxytocin bonding, the 8-week rule, and following a man's lead, Dr. Allen changed Marissa's life. Marissa is honored to have Dr. Allen as her guest today, and to allow other women the opportunity to learn the difference between being respected and cherished, as well as learning how to get to I Do. Sit back and listen in, or call in with questions, as Dr. Allen joins us live to help us learn to commit ourselves to authentic love and communication, and a life of successful dating, and marriage.
