How Would You Like To Cure Overwhelm…NOW?!
My guest this Tuesday is Travis Cody, an entrepreneur and best-selling author of his second book, Cure Overwhelm Now - Slash the Stress, Get More Done...and Have More Fun. The book highlights his venture into a world without cell phone, computer, Internet, television and radio usage for thirty days. It is a well-researched, comedic look at what technology is doing to the brain function and quality of life for those too immersed in the convenience it provides. Here’s more about Travis:
In an act of unmitigated bravery Travis Cody does the unthinkable and then writes about it. With a guy next door comedic flair, the author gives readers an inside look at his harrowing adventure as he goes without technology for 30-days. Quite literally putting pen to paper in a world of laptops and digital tablets, Cody gives a dialed down approach to living the good life. Making it palatable to be less technology centric, the book mixes comedic candor with well-presented research -- research that hints at the possibility that smart devices make users dumb.

Warrior Talk Radio with GI Jenn & Jeff Gonzales is proud to welcome Dave Bray, lead singer of Madison Rising and Col. Rob Maness, running for US Senate in Louisiana.
Dave Bray, lead singer of the band Madison Rising and a dedicated leader and patriot. Dave was a Recruit Chief Petty Officer in basic training, a Master at Arms in A-school, and was awarded the honor of Top Dog in Field Medical Service School. He would finally serve in the U.S. Navy as an 8404 FMF Corpsman for the 2nd Battalion / 2nd Marines stationed out of Camp Lejeune NC.
Madison Rising brings great rock music back to the forefront of popular culture. With songs ranging from the guitar heavy opening track "Right To Bear" it is clear that this band is on a mission to not only make great music, but also send a message that American culture is alive and well. Madison Rising promotes the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility.
Ret. Col Rob Maness, Senate candidate for Louisianna, made the decision as a 17 year old high school senior to enlist in the Air Force and served in the midst of the Iranian hostage crisis. He worked his way up from the enlisted ranks to full colonel and retired from active duty in 2011, ending his military service of more than 32 years.
Ret. Col Maness led numerous combat operations; two of which were as a bomber squadron commander in OEF & OIF. As a Joint Chiefs of Staff Operations Officer he was on duty in the National Military Command Center located within the Pentagon during the 9/11 attacks.

According to the National Adult Literacy Survey two-thirds of students who cannot read effectively by the time they graduate 4th grade, dramatically increasing their chances of going to jail, as over 70 percent of American inmates cannot read above a 4th grade reading level. A shocking one in every four children in America grow up without learning how to read.
The Social Science and Medical Journal reports low literacy has been correlated with poverty, unemployment and incarceration in prison and other institutions. It’s been associated with negative health outcomes for conditions like diabetes and hypertension, and more frequent hospitalizations for medical concerns. Each of these issues disproportionately impact community mental health service users. But literacy goes beyond reading and math skills.
In light of the Floyd Mayweather illiteracy claims and his ability to flaunt money in response is a sign that we are sending the wrong messages to our kids. Instead of endorsing throwing a ball, picking up a microphone, or twerking how about reading.
Please join us on Tuesday as special guest Dr Benjamin joins us to discuss the imploring decline of a generation unable to read, unable to speak, and unable to progress in the world.
