Conversation with the author of Concrete Jungle, Toronto native Kamilah Hayward.
Trey and Diamond are two kindred spirits, from Toronto, Ontario whose paths have crossed, both on a forbidden journey of overcoming trials and tribulations of being lost in the streets. The lack of guidance and awareness of consciousness in their atmosphere has sent them on a wild roller coaster seeking something more out of life. Something they can’t see smell, touch, or taste but, it’s in the air. Their young wild spirits thing they know what lies ahead but, they think they have it all planned out but, the more they think, the more lost they have become in a world full of illusions. Will they find their way or just continue as lost children in the concrete jungle?
Come join me as we continue our preseason previews. This week we're going to cover the Grambling Tigers. To most people, when you say the name Grambling, you're speaking of one of the top HBCU programs in history. The Tigers have more NFL hall of famers than some FBS teams. And a great winning tradition. The last two years they hit rock bottom. Saddled with youth the Tigers have hit an all time low including a forfeit of a game. With a new coach and a renewed motivation the Tigers seek to reclaim thier crown. Can they do it? We'll take a look. Lots of facts with my own humble opinions sprinkled in.

Some people say that all relationships, marriage, and love are “Hard Work,” but the work you put in can be rewarding when it’s done right. Others say that love, relationships, and marriage would never be labeled as “Hard Work” if people actually entered into these for the long haul, meaning that you’re signing up to stick together through good times and bad times so when the bad times come you don’t complain or bail. But, how you label the “Work” you put into relationships may have more to do with the person you’re with and how compatible the two of you are when it comes to problem solving, respect, and admiration, etc. Then again, maybe part of the “Hard Work” is less about the partnership and more about resolving issues of each individual so both people can heal, i.e. finding your collective cohesiveness.
Everyone enters relationships wounded in some way and the “Hard Work” may be humbling yourself to admit to flaws and do the “Work” to tackle difficult issues and challenges, making yourself a better partner for your mate. From this perspective, the "Hard Work” you do on yourself, benefits your mate and your relationship in a deeper sense. These are just a few ideas and We Want to Hear From You about how you find your relationships, marriage, and love to be “Hard Work,” if you do find them to be “Hard Work”?

Isn't it ironic that the lame stream media, public officials, and other pundits promote peace in Ferguson as a response to the riots yet we continue to drop bombs in the middle east. War is not the answer or is it...
America has a violent past, a violent present, and a may I dare say a violent future. Tonight we discuss the differences and similarities between the Cliven Bundy case and the Ferguson case. Two isolated incidents with common threads and an underlining theme that cannot be denied.
Since the days of Martin Luther King the phrase, "Turn the other cheek" has been a prominent theme line in the black community. Although marching, protesting, and boycotting were cornerstones to the civil rights movement many question whether these tactics are outdated. On the flip-side how productive and effective is rioting.
In other news we will address how The CDC and the powers that be have been deliberately waging war against the black youth of America. A top research scientist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) played a key role in helping Dr. Brian Hooker of the Focus Autism Foundation uncover data manipulation by the CDC that obscured a higher incident of autism in Black Boys.
In these last two chapters of 2 Samuel, much happens. But in keeping with one truth for the day, we focus on the fact that David refused to make a sacrifice to the Lord which cost him nothing. This is a wonderful example, demonstrating that we should also be sure that our sacrifices to the Lord are not without cost.
2 Samuel 24:21-25New Living Translation (NLT)
21 “Why have you come, my lord the king?” Araunah asked.
David replied, “I have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the Lordthere, so that he will stop the plague.”
22 “Take it, my lord the king, and use it as you wish,” Araunah said to David. “Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and you can use the threshing boards and ox yokes for wood to build a fire on the altar. 23 I will give it all to you, Your Majesty, and may theLord your God accept your sacrifice.”
24 But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver[a] for the threshing floor and the oxen.
25 David built an altar there to the Lord and sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings. And the Lord answered his prayer for the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
