    Melissa Mickelson Live

    in Military

Join us this week as we welcome country music singer songwriter, Melissa Mickelson. Barbara Mandrell's classic tune "I Was Country (When Country Wasn't Cool)" pretty much sums up Melissa Mickelson. Before settling in Oregon, Melissa grew up as an Air Force brat, moving between bases in Oklahoma and Texas. Her best memories as a kid was when the family would listen to the vinyls of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. For as long as she can remember she found herself singing in her hairbrush and dreaming of being on the stage in the bright lights. Today, with the release of her self titled EP she is realizing that dream. The 4 song EP is her first attempt at studio recording and has received strong praise from the veteran Nashville musicians she was fortunate to work with. Melissa has been on a meteoric rise with her live performances, burning up the Northwest's honky tonks and bars. In the last year she has exposed thousands of people to her blend of traditional country, blues and rock and roll. Melissa's fun, high energy performances make her a fan favorite at the premier dance halls in the Portland area. Her determination and work ethic is second to none and she is on a mission to carve out her own niche in a highly competitive market. We will talk to Melissa about her upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at her music, feature her latest songs, and ask her to share her message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Melissa Mickelson at http://www.melissamickelson.net/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with Melissa during the show (718) 766-4193. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. Our message to the troops: WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.

    The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab

    in Sports

Welcome to "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab", the 2015 Online Media Award Winning Podcast by What A Fan, part of The Inscriber Media Network, sponsored by DeWalt Brewing Company, and hosted by "The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli and "The Nutty Professor" Andrew Gluchov. This is not the average everyday sports show they are bringing to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for "mad science" sports talk at its best.

This week on "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab", we have a LOADED show with some amazing guests entering the lab. At 10pm, we welcome Evan Tarracciano of Baseball Diehards and Antwan Staley of Sports Talk Florida to talk some baseball - pitchers and catchers reporting, spring training battles and Mejia's Lifetime suspension. At 1030pm, we have Russ Cohen of Sirius XM Radio and Bryan Yates of NHL On The Ice to talk about the 2nd half of the NHL season. At 11pm, we have Danny Thompson of 96.9 The Game in Orlando to talk about some NBA - Kobe's last All-Star Game, the continued excellence of the Warriors and Spurs, and more. And at 1130pm, we will have our special guest of the evening, Bob Salomon of Beyond The Laces, to talk about his organization, book and the relationships he has made with many in the sports world to get his story across.

The beacons are lit, the experiments are on the board, and the test subjects are at the ready. The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab is officially open for business.

    Previewing the NBA Trade Deadline

    in Basketball

Houston Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff called his team “broken” recently, and with the team currently out of the playoffs Dwight Howard could be on the move.

However, trading Howard may not be as easy as it sounds in theory as colleague Ben DuBose explained in a SheridanHoops column.

Trades talks are heating up with less than a week until the trade deadline on February 18.

Another player who may be dealt at the deadline is Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris who has wanted out since the summer when the team dealt his brother, Marcus, to the Detroit Pistons.

With that in mind, Michael Scotto of SheridanHoops.com joined Sportsnet 590 The Fan radio to discuss the latest on trade rumblings around the league and what the Rockets will do with Dwight Howard.
