    #TheDress : Wearing an Illusion?

    in Self Help

    Friend,

The world has suddenly been divided in another three groups – Brown/Blues, Blue/Blacks, and Gold/Whites.  The cause of this great division is one simple question – What color is the dress? (#thedress).  This optical illusion of the same dress has gone viral through social media and has divided sons, mothers, co-workers, and friends alike on what is the right color.  As we close out the Awakening Series, we will answer our question of the day – Are We Wearing an Illusion?

Helping us with that is Rick Bennette -- author, producer, and filmmaker (http://www.rickbennette.com/).   He produced a quick explanation for “What Color is the Dress” -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNU8j69Vo1E&feature=youtu.be. Rick has over a dozen books published world wide.  Most of the books written by Rick Bennette are romantic love stories and light science fiction inspired by his faith and the love of his wife.

So please join our host Eric J Powell on onCUE! Radio Sunday night @6pm CST (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/oncue).

    Epiphany's House Welcomes Wil Gibson...

    in Poetry

There are some artists who are just rooted in your soul..who make no bullshyt excuses.....who just get right down to it...Wil Gibson is THAT artist... I promise..

Wil Gibson was born from a good idea and a bottle of bourbon. He was raised in some of the poorest communities northern Illinois and eastern Arkansas have to offer. He now lives in Portland (the one in Maine) and likes it a lot there (you probably would too). He writes too many love poems and not nearly enough of his novel. A proud (mistake prone) father of four who tries real hard and is still growing up.
He has performed with or opened for; Regie Gibson (no relation), Charlie Neville, Brother Ali, mybrightestdiamond, Toki Wright, Patricia Smith, and Kurtis Blow (among others) in dive bars, high schools, colleges, poetry slams, libraries, living rooms, restaurants, prisons, coffee houses, and churches from Bellingham, Washington to Boston, Massachusetts and beyond.
He was runner up at the 2010 and 2011 Arkansas Grand Slam, audience favorite 2010 Arkansas Grand Slam, three time (2008-2010) Portland, Maine/Port Veritas Grand Slam Champion, 2010 New Hampshire/Slam Free or Die Grand Slam Champion, has represented Portland, Maine six times (2008-2012, 2014) at the National Poetry Slam, including the 2011 team that made semifinals.
He has toured nationally solo and as part of:
Uncomfortable Laughter (w/ Beau Williams, Kait Rokowski, and Ryan McLellan)
guyslikeyou (w/ Beau Williams and Ryan McLellan)
is an honorary member of Chicago 4 Star Poetry(w/ Billy Tuggle, Andi Kauth, Rik Vazquez, Melanie “George” Decelles, Ashley Hart, and Patricia Smith)
and is a founding member of the Port Veritas artist collective.
He likes people and dogs a lot. He would like to pet your dog, talk to you a few minutes, and possibly give you a hug if that’s ok.

Massa Giveth, and Massa Taketh Away

    in Self Help

The Jackie Robinson West Little League stripped of title. Jesse Jackson stated, "The team earned the title and will fight to keep it". Little League Baseball stripped the championship title from the Chicago team on Wednesday, despite a plea from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The team's coach was suspended for violating a rule that prohibits the inclusion of players who live outside a team's geographic area.

The first Black team to win the championship was instructed to vacate wins from the 2014 Little League Baseball International Tournament, including its Great Lakes Regional and U.S. championships. The national championship title was then awarded to Mountain Ridge Little League from Las Vegas.

A spokesman for the Little League International told ABC News that the organization "stands by the difficult decision" announced yesterday.

"Little League International will be working with its counsel to ensure Jackie Robinson West Little League officials and their attorney are fully educated regarding the factual basis of the decision, "Brian McClintock of Little League International said in a statement.

Nothing we do matters until white people give us a title, an award or a prize for doing it. They would stop seeking more titles and labels and awards and white validation...oscar's, grammy's, and billboards.

Ladies, Let Me Help You Out... ThankQDotMe

    in Romance

Just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean that I don't have things to say now and then.  So, I figured that I'd flashback to a blog post from 2010 on the www.ThankQ.me website that discusses guys and their egos.  There are a lot of decent guys out there who can be easily satsified by their women.  However, for some reason, either women forget or don't care to do the things that keep their men happy.  Don't get me wrong.  I understand that can go both ways, but as a guy I'm going to speak on how easy it is to please us.  If a lady wishes to do the same then by all means do so, email me at Talk2QNow@gmail.com and link your podcast to this show link.

On this first installment of ThankQDotMe, I'm just going to give ladies a scenario of how a hard-working, good man can turn into an opportunist because of his ego.
