    USCHO Live! Season 4, Episode 13: Our annual look at NCAA rules and officiating

    On the January 27, 2015, episode of USCHO Live! we will have our annual check in with the NCAA Rules Committee on rules and officiating. Scheduled are Ty Halpin, NCAA Liaison for Rules; Steve Piotrowski, NCAA Ice Hockey Rules Secretary; and Frank Cole, NCAA National Coordinator of Men's Ice Hockey Officiating.


    About the hosts


    Jim Connelly is a senior writer at USCHO.com and has been with the site since 1999. He is based in Boston and regularly covers Hockey East. He began with USCHO.com as the correspondent covering the MAAC, which nowadays is known as Atlantic Hockey. Each week during the season, he co-writes "Tuesday Morning Quarterback." Jim is the winner of the 2012 Joe Concannon award, and is a studio analyst for NESN.


    Ed Trefzger has been part of USCHO since 1999 and now serves as a senior writer and director of technology. He has been a part of the radio broadcasts of Rochester Institute of Technology hockey since their inception -- serving as a producer, studio host, color commentator and as RIT's play-by-play voice for eight seasons. Ed is general manager of CBS Sports Radio affiliate 105.5 The Team in Rochester, N.Y., and COO of its parent company, Genesee Media Corporation.

    Ten years ago we were introduced to Susan Smiley, her mother Millie and her sister Tina. Out of the Shadow was produced and directed by Susan. Premiering in 2005, it provided an unprecedented insight into her mother's serious mental illness, her own journey and how she and her sister have coped. The response to the film was enormous, receiving wide-spread press coverage. It continues to be required viewing in many university courses and graduate schools of public health, psychiatry, social work and nursing.     Taxpayer Advocate’s 2015 Report to Congress

    The Taxpayer Advocate Service, an ombudsman for the IRS, is responsible for assisting taxpayers in resolving certain problems with the IRS, including financial hardships, significant costs and delays, and lack of communication from the IRS. The Advocate presents an annual report to Congress identifying systemic problems that exist within the IRS and, to the extent possible, proposing changes in its administrative practices and identifying potential legislative changes that may mitigate such problems.
