If there is such a passage in the Bible or any other book that tells man not to defend him/her self,it is leading you astray. Self preservation is the first law of life and without resistance to those things that oppress us and keep us in perpetual enslavement. We will perish, Self Defense is the only survival tool that will not fail you in any situation you find yourself in. Malcolm El. Haji Shabazz gives us this knowledge through so many of his speeches but this one is the best.
"Now I hope you'll forgive me for just speaking so informally tonight, but I frankly think it's always better to be informal. As far as I am concerned, I can speak to people better in an informal way than I can with all of this stiff formality that ends up meaning nothing. Plus, when people are informal, they're relaxed. When they're relaxed, their mind is more open, and they can weigh things more objectively."Whenever you and I are discussing our problems we need to be very objective, very cool, calm, collected. But that doesn't mean we should always be. There's a time to be cool and a time to be hot. See, you got messed up into thinking that there's only one time for everything. There's a time to love and a time to hate. Even Solomon said that, and he was in that Book too. You're just taking something out of the Book that fits your cowardly nature. And when you don't want to fight, you say, "Well, Jesus said don't fight." Malcolm El Haji ShabazzBut I don't even believe Jesus said that." So let's examine what the brother had to say about the surrender of our selves to a belief. If we believe as strongly over reparation of our people to their true wealt, the land we should recive and damages for 400 years of salvery along with 50 or more years of JIm Crow.

TheAngryindian speaks on the hardcore, capital-murder MC chaos that has shaken the peace in Waco, Texas USA and how White America has dealt with this situation as opposed to how the full-force of the federal government (including the use of spy planes); über-militarised local law enforcement and the corporate mainstream media handled (and demonised) the civil outbursts that occurred in Ferguson, MO and Baltimore, MD in response to systemic and racist police brutality. EXTRA: TheAngryindian sits with Bob Kincaid of Head on Radio (headonradio.com) broadcasting from Appalachia Country where they discuss the Waco shooting at the Twin Peaks business establishment; American xenophobia and racialism and the poverty of the US media system.

It's a blip on the radar in the grand scheme of things, but much fanfare greeted the recent "yes" vote in the Irish referendum on gay marriage. It was proclaimed an "historic watershed" and "marked a milestone in Ireland’s journey towards a more liberal, secular society". The vote was "almost like a social revolution that makes us a beacon of equality and liberty for the rest of the world" according to Irish health minister Leo Varadkar, who is gay. British tycoon Richard Branson was delighted to "see the people of Ireland voting to live in a country where everybody is treated equally."
Meanwhile, violent, sexual abusers of children are still protected by the Irish state. Irish schoolchildren are still taught lies about their own history, Irish politicians and bankers get away with massive theft of state resources that have impoverished thousands, while Irish police are ordered to beat Irish citizens who protest the privatization of Irish water on the orders of international financiers.
We'll also be discussing latest events around the world, mostly involving death, suffering and chaos.

"According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the total number of people with DEMENTIA worldwide in 2015 is estimated at 47.5 million. The total number of new cases of dementia each year worldwide is nearly 7.7 million, implying 1 new case every 4 seconds. The number of people with dementia is expected to increase to 75.6 million in 2030 and 135.5 million in 2050". Think about it. These are BIG numbers and most of us, in one way or another, will be impacted by dementia in our lifetime.
To help us to help us understand what these numbers mean to us and our loves ones on a community level, we have invited CATHERINE SHEPHERD, Cape Breton - Education and Outreach, Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, to the table.
I first met Catherine about two months ago when my family was trying to deal with a loved one’s diagnosis of dementia. Quite honestly, we were afraid and looking for guidance and support. From the get go, Catherine stepped into the fire, met us where we were, and offered step-by-step guidance, knowledge and reassurance at a time when all three were in short supply. I was very touched by this timely gift (for she was a gift!) and decided to dedicate this show to helping her share a message of hope, coping and perspective for those on a life altering journey called "dementia". Thank you Catherine for doing this beautiful work!
WEEKLY ROUND TABLE with HiC Luttmers, John Carosella and Mildred Lynn: If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your 20-year-old self in the areas of love, money, health, career and life? Get ready for a fun, energetic discussion!
Charlotte Abotsi is a college student and poet hailing from Providence, Rhode Island. She was the Youth Grand Slam Champion at Providence Slam in 2013, taking her to her second Brave New Voices competition. She has competed in Oakland, CA and Chicago, IL. Charlotte has also been on the Providence Slam national adult team, competing in Boston, MA. In 2014, Charlotte won Providence Slam's Women of the World Poetry Slam qualifier taking her to Austin, TX to compete alongside 72 other poets. Charlotte works extensively with Providence Slam; specifically cultivating a safe space in the community and being the assistant coach for the youth program, while also being Providence Slam's booking coordinator. Other poets vaguely know who she is because she can never stop fangirling over all of them. French fries are the only thing she cares about.
